We have consistently finished in the top two and have won 6 out of the last ten all sports trophies. Furthermore, we have won more than any other school. We are a 3 sport school with men's basketball leading the way followed by baseball and women's volleyball. We are desperate to get out of the Valley. Thoughts?

Stay put. You are enjoying success in the MVC. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. There is more realignment coming and the Nbe/A12 may not even exist in a year. While losing Creighton was a blow, the MWC continues to be a good conference.

Maybe they should ball up and add football?

Add VCU, Wichita State, and St Louis as BB schools. Ends up being much better than the c-7.

I love the idea of WSU - we had a great rivalry with them in the Valley back in the day... wouldn't mind seeing that again in the new conference.

Why on Earth would St. Louis turn down the Big East? They'll be getting more money, and will be in a conference designed around basketball. For the likes of Wichita State and VCU, who will likely be left out of the Big East, Conference-TBA will bring more money and exposure.

Thanks Pony94. I don't understand how somebody could misunderstand that post when VCU hadn't even been mentioned yet.

VCU may not come. Until there is some stability setting in they may feel the A-10 is a better home with GMU joining.

Now the Missouri Valley may not be strong enough to retain WSU if the Aresco league came calling though.

Either way it allows for travel cost reduction due to divisions and a high RPI addition increasing revenue through NCAA tourney credits.

C-TBD needs to lock up some of these teams. It will be nice to make a splash in basketball.

I'd love to have both Wichita and VCU. Since it sounds like Navy is staying hopefully the league will add at least 1 non-FB member.

I want to add 3 BB teams which will stabilize the Big East on the hoops side. The C-7 is getting around $3 million per team for just basketball. We need to power up on that side. All these new sports stations are lacking content after Football.

That's not the norm. They did that to get them to split the league so FOX could offer them just for hoops.

Compare it to the A-10 hoops deal and the Aresco hoops money for comparison.

I'm all in favor of Wichita State + VCU. The only question is if they would accept. The Metro's tv revenue is so low that it might not cover the increased travel costs.

There's only 1 FB only school now. The ship for this league has sailed in terms of being a power football conference, but being a power basketball conference is still possible. If VCU/Wichita were added and were regular tournament teams they'd make up for the added split in tournament credits and saved travel costs for everyone else.
