In happier news. UH is trailing Lamar 2-0 in the 6th.

Sorry, I don't understand the logic of taking Fox out there. Must McCanna always be brought in with the bases loaded? I think this his 2nd or 3rd consecutive time coming in in such an untenable situation.

Pop to 2B finally ends it. 5-0 end sixth.

I don't get this objection at all. McCanna takes the ball when he is given the opportunity. There is two outs, he can pitch from either the wind or stretch. All he needs is an out.

One more inning to see if this team is ready to fight to the end...

Scott has pitched all of 1.0 innings in 3 appearances this year...and has walked 3 with 1 HBP. Do you think we can, just once, be a little patience, given we need multiple baserunners? That's 4 free passes in one inning of work. Please, let's not be first pitch swinging.

Besides, if he is going to be a bullpen contributor for us, he needs to figure out how to handle it. If Simms is going to be in the rotation, McCanna has to be able to be a stopper out of the pen. Need someone other than Lemond.

Sure doesn't look like it at the moment. I am aware of what the OG earlier. Maybe he starts against Tulane at home Sunday.

Ewing leadoff single. Byrd FC, runner 1st 1 out. Stainback walk. Cook showing bunt?? Then another FC, out @ 2nd. 2 out, runners at corners.

You could have fooled me. Seems like the first four in 2013 are Kubs, Stevens, Simms, and McDowell. If he is going to contribute in 2013, he needs to take the ball when given. There is a long history of future starters pitching out of the pen first.

Struggling at the moment. Haven't seen him do that much at Rice. Can't afford it with Hoelscher on the shelf. Hopefully we can get him straightened out ASAP.

Agreed...however, must he always be given the ball when he has no margin for error coming out of the pen? For even the most experienced stopper, that is a difficult situation; for a guy who's never come out of the bullpen before this season, that's asking quite a lot.

And the tickets I won in my school auction have a typo. The date is correct but the day is wrong it appears.

This is, by far, the worst 3 week stretch he's had since he's been at Rice. Hitting nothing hard. One would think something is out of whack with his mechanics (e.g., swing) given how long this has now been going on.

Most everyone in the bullpen never pitched in relief in high school. They all were starting pitchers, or not pitchers at all.
