As someone who has followed these conference moves daily I would have never guessed that would have invited Idaho and NMSU for football only. NMSU possibly for all sports to pick up basketball, but adding Idaho screams of lack of options and some stuff possibly coming down the road. Makes no sense otherwise.

NMSU football only isn't that surprising. Do you really want olymp. traveling that far?

I get their football sucks and basketball is good but it may have been a survival add. I'm fine with it.

I have a big problem with both. I see no reason not to admit NMSU's basketball program along with their football program. NMSU for all sports I can live with.

Idaho doesn't have a freaking proper place to play football. If they dont care enough about their program to build a proper facility why throw them a lifeline?

Im working on how the schedule may work. You guys have to play 4 FBS home games in 2014, and you cant count each other. If I was a betting man, one or both of you will get shafted with a permanent fixture against Idaho or NMSU at least briefly to get schedules in line.

It's my understanding that conf with a champ game will get more payout than conf without. The payout will more than offset any loses from a champ game. Especially if its on a home field for one team.
