Isn't that 3 MAC AD's now? NIU, EMU, and BG all lose the AD.

Something happening we don't know about?

Miami has a new AD too. Ours went to Boston College.

That's a little disconcerting.

KSU's AD is in his second year. Don't be surprised if he moves up as well in the next 1-2 years. The MAC is a training ground for the bigger programs. Like Xavier. (cough)

BSU hired Bill Scholl 4/2012. Make it 6.

Better to have ADs that people want than ones they don't, I suppose.

Agreed, but then again eventually you look around and all of your old employees are doing a bunch at big schools. I guess that's what happens when you also see Urban Meyer/Brian Kelly/Butch Jones/Brady Hoke (and a whole lot of others) doing a bunch at their new schools too.

But regarding AD's, t's also nice to get fresh blood in the position every now and then too. Bates was getting kinda stale in Oxford between the football and basketball programs sinking under his watch, Sayler is bringing a lot of energy so far.

People want what we have, so be it. I say beef up buyouts a bit, make insecure B!0 presidents and AD's cough up some loot.

I think it is a bit fun to say that the MAC is a training ground for the big leagues in whatever, but a revolving door for Coaches and AD's simply means that sooner or later you will get a dud.

Meanwhile, Toledo still has Mike O'Brien (since 2002)! 02-13-banana I take it that he wants to stay at UT because it seems like he could definitely have moved on if he wanted to.

You'd think bigger schools would want the more successful athletic directors.

Any chance he is tainted meat with all the issues at Toledo under his watch?

Xavier is a perennial Sweet Sixteen team. Their AD was making about $60,000 more than Christopher at Bg in 2010 which was the last numbers I could find. Xavier has no football but are in a multi-bid basketball league and Christopher got hired because thier former AD just went to Georgia Tech and is the no. 2 paid AD in the ACC at $650,000, in spite of not having any football experience at Xavier. While not a BCS program its definitely a step up.

It's kind of ironic that Mark Ehlen left Xavier for the vacancy at Toledo when Bill Fennelly took the Iowa State job years ago... So I guess, if not only in terms of support, that Ehlen considered the UT gig, superior to Xavier...

When was that 20 years ago? Xavier might have still been in the MCC (Horizon league now) at that time.

Jim Christian left TCU for Ohio last year too- but only Louis Kitton would claim that is a step up in prestige
