Appy is nice upgrade for the Sun Belt over some departing members.

App State, Troy and Ark State shouls be at the top of the CUSA wish list. CUSA should invite them tommorrow.

I wouldn't mind adding Southern Miss to the SBC roster though. Perfect geographic fit, and probably adds another bowl tie to the Conference cupboard. What do ya say USM?

Hahahah. I think Arkansas State would be a player along with WKU. Troy has no chance in CUSA. They will forever be in the Sunbelt. App will likely be in the Sunbelt for the foreseeable future. It wouldn't make sense for CUSA to entertain the idea of adding App when we have Charlotte on board.

Happy for App though. There fans have been waiting a long time to move up.

I wonder what the folks up at JMU and Delaware are thinking right now?...

Troy has as much chance in CUSA as Marshall. I have been to ballgames at both places and Marshall has absolutely nothing over Troy. Some of you Marshall people crack me up.

I admit it, I wish CUSA had invited App St. and JMU. I think they would be great additions and CUSA needs some more east/mid atlantic teams. The closest conference opponent the Monarchs have is a 6 hour drive away and our fanbase is likely only familiar with Marshall and UNCC in the east. Losing ECU took a little luster off of CUSA for me as a fan. App St and JMU would fix that.

Ive been to Memphis too. Its a nasty city outside of Beale Street and a few tourist traps.

Memphis will forever suck at everything but basketball. And you get the advatage of playing in an NBA arena. Plus you had to cheat to get your basktball back on track. Remind me how many wins show in your record books in 2008.

Not too far from the truth, but it doesn't matter because those three schools are in huge metro areas. Everyone in the Dallas Metro follows UNT and everyone in Miami keeps up with FIU and FAU since there is nothing else to do in those two cities other than to keep up with below average college teams.

Troy does not fit the CUSA model. TBH, Marshall doesn't either, but we're already in so whatevs.

And fyi, our athletic budget is $11mil higher than Troy's, we have a larger campus student body, and reside in a significantly larger metro area.

My guess is that Appy going up to FBS will hurt Charlotte's splash into FBS. App already has strong recuriting ties in the region and Charlotte's big advantage would be FBS and CUSA now I am not sure there will be any advantage for Charlotte.

The reason Troy won't get into CUSA is the same reason we aren't getting into the nBE

I hate to be THAT guy, but Ohio has 8 FBS teams: Cincinnati, Ohio State, Ohio, Bowling Green, Miami Ohio, Toledo, Kent State, Akron. Still definitely impressive for you guys though.
