RE: New Realignment Plan
I'm good with that. A couple easy football wins and two decent basketball programs. UT had a late collapse that cost us a win in Ft. Myers this year. But those teams are a great story.

First they'd have to start football teams ~ a pro forma football team at least (eg, UMass).

Maybe we should just go back to the drawing table and re-check on Notre Dame.

Good choice, but I hear some team in Columbus is sending out feelers. Maybe we could snag them up?

No you fool! It's obviously that one school with a nut as a mascot, the name escapes me. A good fit for me I say.

Obviously there is no higher ed bubble, and it's clear that going to college is just good for everyone.

Nooooo- if they start football teams they won't be easy wins for some of our conference teams....

La Salle had a football team up until 2007. They played in the MAAC, in a stadium nicknamed "The Mac", and had helmets vaguely resembling Toledo's if you squinted hard.

They shut the team down when their football conference dwindled to only 3 members.

It's a shame they don't have the institutional profile to sustain a scholarship FCS program, let alone a FBS program, because as Philadelphia real estate goes they have one of the best spots you could ask for to construct a MAC quality stadium.
