It varies. Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
Rice's hasn't had balls & strikes for some time. It was said that WG specifically requested their deletion.
I assume by WG you mean Coach and not Walt.

Anybody know the official record for "number of birds in a baseball game"? So far today we've had Owls and Eagles, (Leon) Byrd, (Geoff) Perrott, Jay (Myrick), and (Chase) Fowler. I see an upcoming "Ask the AD" question!!

Owls win 3-0. Lemond does the job. Pitching and defense looked great. Hitting and baserunning still need work.

They've outscored us 10-4 in 2 games, but we're all even at 1 game apiece. Looks like Lemond is our guy to target double-digit saves this year. 5 so far. His stuff looked filthy on Gametracker--the fastball was right down Broadway, and his curve had some serious pixel action. Way to go, Owls. Complete the ornicide tomorrow.

I should have used OG.

Don't forget Robbins, the LP, plus we had a Hunter on the bench
Well played, OO! Totally missed Robbins. Hunter only counts if we give equal points to similar mise-en-scene characters like Skyler, Sterling (*starling*), and Barron (of WWI fame).

Yes!! Who knew this would be so tricky to score?? That's why we have the wisdom of Rick Greenspan to handle such inquiries; might need a new Asst AD for this one...

HUGE bounce back with for the team today...and very well played. Sure, Jordan Stephens (W, 3-2, 7.0 IP, 4 hits, 0 runs, 1 BB, 7 Ks) and Zech Lemond (Save #5, 2.0 IP, 0 hits, 0 runs, 0 BBs, 1 K) deservedly earn Game Balls #1 and #2, respectively, but terrific games by both Keenan Cook (2-3, sac, run scored) and Geoff Perrott (2-3, HBP, RBI) at the bottom of the order. The nod for Game Ball #3 goes to the bird since he also called an outstanding game at Catcher. I believe that is shutout #6 for us this season as we near the half-way point.
We're going against a hard-throwing RHP tomorrow in JUCO transfer Connor Fisk. We counter with Big Game John Simms to win the rubber game, the weekend series (on the road) and finish off a very successful week. Let's get it done. Go Owls!

The guys played well and the Swiss Miss fans were disarmed. Great to see Zechy bounce back like all great closers do.

BTW, I should have made mention-- and called out-- the Michaels (Aquino and Ratterree) for pairing to produce the first run of the game in the 2nd inning. As with most teams, this squad plays so much better-- and looser-- with a lead, and it does give the pitcher some margin for error. It's why I was so dismayed when we wasted the leadoff double by Byrd last night.

RE: Rice @ USM (Saturday)
Given Simms went 5 innings on Tuesday, it's highly unlikely he'll be able to go past the 6th or 7th inning today, regardless to how efficient he may be pitching. So, with Lemond going 2 innings yesterday, who gets the call to close should we have the lead late this afternoon? Do we go back to Zech (who did only face the minimum 6 batters yesterday) or roll the dice with Rutter? Actually, given USM's left-handed lineup, I wouldn't be surprised if Blake Fox gets the initial call, and continues pitching as long as he's effective.
