you are assuming that MSU fans know anything about basketball other than "MSU good, everyone else bad." As UL fans prove, just because the team wins doesnt mean their fans know jackshit about the sport.

Well, here is a quote that proves they indeed do know a lot about college basketball...

"Just seeing how bad the other conferences suck so far in the tournament I actually think the b10 is the "SEC" of bball. As long as we don't get sloppy and turn the ball over I think we win comfortably."

The "SEC" of basketball?!?!??!! OK Einstein...

Agreed... How many national titles for the big 10 in the last 20 years?? Exactly! Sec of basketball. 03-lmfao03-lmfao

Oh no! he didn't say THAT did he?

"Even if Memphis wins, they'll just vacate it this off season anyways. This is still Calapari's program."

I really don't believe it's an impression they get (they have no clue). It's just a popular thing to say about Memphis, they get from talking heads and other message boards. Just keeps going full circle every year.

Some national radio guy who was at Auburn Hills, I didn't catch his name cause I was driving, just said the classic "Memphis is athletic but undisciplined" right after describing VCU as "athletes that create havoc." He also added that we take lot of bad shots. Heck, I watched Wisconsin jack shot after garbage shot up yesterday. It's like they get handed a card with a narrative from their boss.

We score on assists at a really high rate this year but that never gets mentioned since it doesn't fit the national media storyline. Easier to stick to the script.

Here's another ignorant post:

"Players also don't have to worry about going to class either, which helps. Big advantage over a real program like MSU."

Gotta remember that MSU is the "other" school up there, the Auburn/A$M/Mississloppi State of Michigan, constantly hearing about Blue U. Izzo is a hero not just for winning bit for STAYING!

All that aside, their insecurities are bred into them like boozing and ice-fishing....not that there's anything WRONG with those.

So I guess what he is saying is that they pay their players.

Goes both ways in case you haven't noticed.

For last year's tournament, some of our posters mouthed off about us being cracker smackers---among other similar descriptive phrases
