Seriously, he probably answered the question the right way. I agree with Smaug that you cheer for your school, but in addition to Williams, he also helped recruit most of the NC team.

I probably would just ignore the game.

He said he'd go in a room, close the door, and watch it by himself without letting anyone know who he pulled for.

Although I agree I'd usually side with alma-mater.

My GUESS would be that he has feelings for the players he recruited and knows personally rather than either of the schools as institutions..

Good point. I think I'd to what I usually do when I have a rooting interest in both teams playing.

I sit down thinking I can't lose, and let the flow of the game dictate who I pull for. I invariably pick a side by the end.
