Elite BB MWC.
What a joke,

3rd seed about to get kicked out by 14th
5th already lost to 12th
BSU didn't get to round of 64

UNM's RPI was ridiculously inflated. I had them losing in the second round.

RE: Elite BB MWC.
Three things I should (but never) follow when making tourney picks:

1. Don't pick Pittsburgh.
2. Don't pick Mountain West teams.
3. Don't pick Georgetown. (pending)

Every year those teams choke, and every year I pick them. I had two MWC teams in the Sweet 16 (UNLV and New Mexico), and Pitt in the Elite 8. I also have Georgetown in the Sweet 16....

Yup. All this time I thought the MW was building a basketball conference that might be better than C-TBA. I was way wrong. Over rated....

RE: Elite BB MWC.
The MWC is historically horrible in the tourney going back to their conference creation. I had New Mexico in the Sweet 16 but thankfully no one else from the league making it past the round of 32.

3 of their 4 teams looked bad but CSU looked solid. UofL better hit the boards Saturday, the Rams are the best rebounding team in the country.

Remember when people on this forum were saying we should add UNM for their basketball?

The MWC just exploded and UL can eliminate one more team on Saturday.

3 out of 4 lost in their first game and CSU will get run out of the gym tomorrow by Louisville.

Metropolitan schools have an inherent advantage in college basketball for obvious reasons. We are going to have a killer basketball conference in the future.

That would actually be good for the league, in spite of the Lobos crash-and-burn yesterday.

Don't let the ramblings of Trollgrass cause us to be anti-Mtn. That is a good, strong league.

No it is not. They were and still are overrated. They didn't look any better than the CUSA programs.

Right now I see UConn, Memphis and Cincy as Top 35 programs. Maybe Temple in there too...the rest not so much. Houston/SMU maybe can rise up.

Mountain West was incredibly inflated by their rpi's, which 8 or 10 years ago all mid majors figured out how to artificially inflate their rpi's to impress committee, somewhere there has to be a better way to judge how good teams really are. The BPI on ESPN comes a lot closer than the RPI does, but still is very lacking. The MW was not now nor ever will be the number one league in anything, other than say mountain climbing.

Agreed new conference will be nothing like old BE, but truthfully as of today, how many teams in the new ACC will be in that fold ( top 35 ). Duke,Syracuse, UL, N.C., to me that is about it. Maybe Pitt, NCST ( I don't think so on either one). I will agree that new ACC will be best bb conf., no doubt about it, but you were talking about top 35. I think Temple might be Top 35, debateable, and UL plays in this unnamed Conf. next year which leads me to believe we will have more NCAA tourney teams than ACC.
