Do people even use the term Metrosexual anymore? Even if they do, who gives a crap?

I've seen a couple thousands posts, tweets, etc. on the name, and only three people have brought up metrosexual. Methinks someone is a bit uncomfortable with some **** that has nothing to do with the conference.

Ive kind of resigned myself to the fact that the new name will be some iteneration of the Metro moniker. Its probably the one geographic characteristic that fits the vast majority of the conference. Maybe ECU isnt a metro, but it certainly would not be considered rural. If somebody can post that nightime satelite map of the US, its obvious that the eastern seaboard is essentially all one long string of metro areas. Looking at that map, I thought that the Bright Lights Conference might be the best name and use that satelite image as the logo.

At any rate, while its not my favorite, I expect some version of the Metro conference to be the final choice. I can live with that.

Greenville is actually considered a metropolitan area of 216,000

Me personally, I consider any place that has a DMA to be a "metro", BUT, I concede to be in the minority in that respect. ECU is the closest thing anyone can come up with an outlier and at the end of the day, I have a feeling most folks will shrug off ECU's "small" size much like they shrug off Missouri/TAMU/WVU or B10 and B12.

I can stomach "metro" ONLY if the name has an optional acronym, such as "EMC", "NMC", "BMC", "GMC", etc.. I truly hate just "metro" for several reasons.

I haven't heard the word metrosexual since High School in 2000...no matter what we pick people will mock it...that can't be your concern.

The metro survived 25-30 years without n acronym...you're just obsessed.

That's because everyone calls you a metrosexual behind your back...since high school anyway.
