Coach is panicing (and, yes, that's the correct word for it) if he's having Rat squeeze with a guy on 3B rather than let him try for the sac fly (or hit). I could understand it with someone else, but not Ratterree.

So much for our "improved" bunting, as we're now 0-2 so far tonight.

Great catch by Ratt to end the T4 on a liner hit deep to RC by Perucki (a Tomball High School product...I had to get a word in for the visiting home boy!)

I very much suspect that this coach does not panic.

I don't see any problem with bunting with Rat. We need runs. We seem to have a problem getting them. It is not like Rat is batting .750 and has 32 home runs.

Also, we seem to be quite adept at hitting into DPs.

Tekyl misses bunt attempt, catcher throws behind Stringer who takes off for 3b and makes it in safely. Weird game so far.

And we're now 0-3 in bunt attempts. So much for our improved bunting.

At last, run on sac fly. Basic baseball.

Keenan can't get squeeze down, but SF to CF plates 1st run of game.

Wow the coaches are playing this like game 3 in Omaha! Skyler announced as PH for Blake and UTSA immediately goes to RH pitcher. 3rd pitcher for UTSA

RE: Rice vs. UT-SA (Wednesday Game)
1-2-3 fourth inning for Chase (ground out, fly out, line out). Chase deserves some run support here.

Stringer hit by the pitch to lead things off. I believe that's Christian's first time on base in 3 games. I would not bunt here as we have 3 left-handed hitters coming up next against a LHP.
Aquino single. Runners on 1B and 2B, no outs. Gotta bunt here, but can Connor get one down against a LHP?...
Stringer stole 3B.
Teykl infield pop. Connor is in a big time funk the past 3 games. Runners on the corners, one out. With Cook up, I'm betting on the squeeze. Bunt to 3B, where UT-SA has been vulnerable...
Cook get the sac fly! 02-13-banana Runner on 1B, two outs.
Ewing pinch hitting for Fox...and UT-SA promptly goes to the bullpen for a right-hander, So RHP Onda (3.86 ERA, 11.2 IP, 10 hits, 1 BB, 4 Ks)-- not a strikeout pitcher by any means...
Ewing ground out to SS.
Well, despite failing to execute, we still managed to finally convert a run. Well done.

Good guys take a 1-0 lead heading to the top of the fifth inning.

0-4 in bunt attempts. Sorry, but that's unacceptable at this level.

Seems like Chase is getting spooked.

Suddenly lost touch of the strikezone. Bases loaded, one out.

After successful bunt puts runners in scoring position for UTSA, Chase walks batter and then coaxes beautiful 3-6-1 DP to end T5!

With runners at 1st and 2nd with no outs, Leon fouls off 2 bunt attempts then flies to LF. 0-5? I've lost count.

Yup. I'm glad Coach thinks we're bunting better. And we're doing this against a 3B who is clearly vulnerable.
