I had been using MyFitnessPal - it is all free. I'm going to weigh in tonight and start over - this thread has inspired me. Last year I tried the Weight Watchers for Men site (it does have a monthly fee) and I think the nutrition database on myfitnesspal is much more thorough.

And for the record, I'm not a huge person, but I could stand to lose 30-35 pounds.

Have have been on for about a month and a 1/2. Other than having to put in a email and create and user name it has not asked me anything else. I have heard there is a app for smart phones but I do not have one but the wife is getting one so I will have to check that out thanks.

I sort of view it like I viewed quitting smoking. It sucks. Never really stops sucking. But eventually the sucking becomes tolerable and just is what it is.

Upside is I can now make a Belles Two Hearted Ale last about an hour.

Congrats on losing 30. I thought I was doing well in losing 17. Truly impressive.

Who woulda thought the best news to come out of the Salem Gardens thread was that lots of Banter folk need to shed some weight.

Guess this isn't a good time to organize a board meeting, is it?

Or it is the ideal time before the rest of us start down the good track. 04-cheers

RE: Bearcats out to eat at Salem Gardens.
This is turning into an interesting thread. I decided to download that app as well. Hope it makes me more conscious. Lost about 20 pounds this summer by not drinking at all outside of vacation (where I drank as much as I wanted, ha), running 6-8 miles 6 days a week and eating healthier than I ever have before.

Gained it all back throughout the school year as my workouts went down to about 5 miles, 5 days a week, the food habits got worse and enjoying a few beers during football/basketball season.

The pig is 6 weeks out. Still time to put some miles in and give it a go. I decided yesterday I was going to run the half. Haven't ran a lick since last summer and I put in 5.5 miles yesterday. Hurting a little today but I should be able to get it going in time for May 5.

Anybody with me?

I lost 70 lbs by cutting out sugar, artificial sweeteners and simple carbs. You can eat all you want and feel full if you eat good proteins, fats and complex carbs. It is not really a sacrifice. Also, by adding a cheat day in every week or two weeks it gives you something to look forward to and does not really kill your diet. I have kept my weight off for a couple of years doing this and am in better shape than I have been since my freshman year in college (a long time ago).

Man I had no idea we had so many Salem Gardens fans here.

I haven't been there since, uhmm, last night!

I utilize their bar services far more than their grill. But they do have a good burger.

Although I have to say they haven't been minding their tap selections well recently and I have been heading elsewhere. Seems like they have a decent mix right now though. With the emphasis on "decent".

I was raised in ATP and my family frequently went there for small gatherings... I still stop by every now and then when I'm in town either after a UC football game or to watch a game if it's on TV. I used to live for that Golden Tee video game system and table shuffle board thing they have.

I also went there with my dad to meet CBK when he was on one of his campaign stops. Had him sign my diploma since I recently graduated. I now keep it in my office with the diploma case shut so no one can see the signature - my stubborn way of showing disdain for how he left (note - I'm nowhere near as bitter now as I was then - it's just an amusing story to tell people).
