CNN-SI has us as their suspect team in the MW bracket

Talks about our turnovers and poor ft shooting. After reading, I thought we shot fts ok but do turn it over a lot.

Turns out our ft percentage is down to 66.6%, good for 250th among division 1 teams.

And, we turn it over >14 times/game, 272 in the ncaas.

Ugh.

Yeah...Seems like FT shooting has tanked recently. I don't know why. It really cost us in the Xavier game. For that matter, it really cost us in the Minnesota game too....And that was months ago.

We do turn it over a lot....Sometimes it's because we're trying to play fast, but a lot of times we do stupid stuff.

Love it....

Please have someone present this info to the team...

In fact present ALL poster board material from any media outlet to the team before the Tourney begins..

Time to fuel the fire :)

We are a safe pick as suspect because even if we win the first game we have to play a road game in the round of 32.

We wouldn't have gone into OT if we hit just one of the front end of the two one and ones. Plus black's two misses. If somehow we can get it corrected (as well as some stupid TOs), we'll be real tough. If not, we'll be home next weekend.

FT shooting has definitely gotten ugly since Xavier. Not sure why.

Before Xavier, the Tigers were shooting 68.8% from the line as a team. In the 7 games from Xavier to USM, they are shooting just 57.0%.

Joe, Tarik, and Shaq have all had a significant drop the last 10 games or so in FT percentage by my recollection. Not sure where that has come from, but we could use a return to better form. Only DJ has improved of late to counterbalance and that is not enough.

Pressure is on Coach K? I know they were bounced in the first round last year, but seriously?

Not sure if we're just not focusing and sleepwalking. Shaq was around 80% earlier in the year I thought and now he's <70%.

The good thing is we still have several good ft shooters despite the low team percentage in joe, cc, and adonis

RE: CNN-SI has us as their suspect team in the MW bracket
So those 2 negatives should keep us from getting a win. Well, so why not talk of the positives, like Memphis has 2 X factors that most teams have not seen in DJ and Geron or the 3 former McDonalds All Americans that start. They could talk about the 2 team Captains that could start but come off the bench.
What about how explosive the Tigers are shooting the rock at 47.8 ranked 16th but only 10 are better in the tournament. What about only VCU and Louisville have more steals a game than the Tigers of the team that are in the tournament. In spite of 14 turnovers per game the Tigers create 16 by the opposing team. Only Kansas has more block shots than Memphis of the teams in the tournament. Assists per game only North Carolina has more than Memphis.

There are plenty positives that the Pundits can key in on about the Tigers. They can get on the wagon now or later.

My theory on free throw shooting is the same as field goals. Everyone is going to shoot their average. Might be high some games, pitiful the next game, but eventually they are going to be at their average.

I sure get tired of my blood pressure being equal to our free throw drama.

But all those things are because our conference sucks. Haven't you heard?

CNN? Seriously? I know for a fact that CNN SI sports writers get together twice a week with CBS sports writers at Denny's to stick pins in an ESPN doll.

Joe has struggled at the line, in that stretch and Tarik is pretty much an automatic miss lately. DJ had a bad night at the line against xavier....that's the main reason the percentage has dipped.
