Well, they sure as hell help beef up Football and Baseball!

ECU could be decent in basketball with the proper support. Good geography, and their football fanbase has shown they'll support a winner.

Have steadily improved the past few years, too. Top 100-ish RPI team this year in C-USA. Not bad. Certainly not worse than the DePauls of the world.

I think they add a lot in football ( I could care less about baseball as do most people) for basketball they are a huge drag on the RPI.

Really? Really? Haven't we had enough bastardizing of our fellow conference mates? As a Tulanian, I know the impact of the various vilification campaigns placed against the Green Wave. Tulane, ECU and all of our conference mates deserve better than this thread.

In the meantime, I wish the Bearcats, Louisville, and others to have a great tourney as their NCAA credits will help all of us.

Why alienate one of your new members by essentially slapping them in the face with disrespect?

ECU needs a home for its other sports, why would the new conference want to force ECU to scramble to find another home? That would only breed discontent. This conference should attempt to promote cohesion by taking care of its membership. We all need to look out for one another and protect each other in order to survive.

The original C-USA & Big East are perfect examples to illustrate that conferences that adopt the football only vs. non football membership model only end up imploding because of the intrinsic conflicts of interest within such a model.

Granted, ECU has a developing program & an overall lack of basketball tradition but it is really embarrassing that ECU didn't get a full invite up front. The school deserved it years ago. ECU brings as much to the table as any new add. Every school in this conference has its worts & every school has its strengths.

What if back in the 90s ECU fans were pushing for UC to be forced out of C-USA football because their program was a weak link for the conference at the time? My point is that if we don't look out for one another, nobody else will either. If our interests aren't aligned then their will be constant unrest & instability.
