C-USA Basketball will be better overall. Going from 3 to 5 Top 100 programs, not counting UAB and ODU... which should be Top 100 every year. 7 Top 100 programs, should lend to an interesting hoops season.

RE: A look ahead at next season's schedule
I doubt CUSA initially gets much national respect, because we are not going to have a national program like Memphis, and no one will be ranked pre season. The key is going to be for multiple conference teams to earn that respect by playing tough non conference games and getting some wins. There needs to be at least two teams that raise some eyebrows nationally in November and December so that conference play gets noticed.

If only one team gets noticed, we face the danger of the perceived Memphis and the rest syndrome. If no one raises eyebrows, we will be ignored, but I'd two or more teams make some noise, the conference schedule becomes interesting to the national media. see Atlantic 10 this year.

I'd add this in - if we ever do make that scheduling alliance with the MWC, we're going to help ourselves.

I just don't see that happening. KenPom had the MWC rated as the 3rd best conference in the country. C-USA was 11th, and now we don't have Memphis.

That horse has left the barn.

We also don't have SMU, Tulane and Houston. We are better off next year even with Memphis gone.

and Pitino has FIU at a much-improved 110 in the RPI this year. Hope they can keep it going. They were 251 last year, 283 in 10-11, 296 in 09-10.
