Central Michigan Vs Lady Rockets
Central Michigan's outstanding ZONE DEFENSE was the key to their overwhelming victory over BGSU today. It won't go unnoticed that Toledo has had some difficulties against zones, most recently against Eastern Michigan in the next to last game of the year. So we can expect a zone tomorrow. Central also hit 17 of 19 free throws, a percentage we only dream about in Toledo. On the positive side Central has been an up and down team this year and it is quite possible they will not be able to duplicate their impressive performance in back to back games. I suggest the Lady Rockets will need to bring the A game tomorrow with good shooting percentages from both the field and free throw line. Go Rockets!

Hit 30% of threes at least, because we usually shoot about 25 of em. Lately Toledo has been under 30% in games and that will be a loss even with the D we play and locking up Bradford. Toledo has to bully those thugs on the boards. CMU plays hard.

Naama will win again!
This will be the CMU repeat!
pen-Ultimate statement game.
Beating Akron will be the statement game who shows the MAC who
the real MVP is.
Both games should help Toledo gain a higher seed in the Big Dance.

This game worries me. I think we need a WNIT vs USC performance from Naama to beat CMU

We all know that we will get it.
No-one rises to a challenge like Naama.
Just see that she is safely escorted to and from the game by an assistant coach and a group of Rocket fans. She is the difference between not only CMU and the MAC title, but Akron and the MAC title.
I am more worried about what the CMU fans will do to Naama then what the team can do to the Lady Rockets.
All things happen according to plan Toledo gets a big statement win!

Keys to the game:
Making outside shots to bust the CMU zone
Winning the turnover battle
Transition baskets (how the Rockets won in Mt. Pleasant)
And of course, the standard intense defense needs to show up

RE: Central Michigan Vs Lady Rockets
Hey folks---where is the excitement? I seem to sense fear and caution more that eager anticipation. This is THE BIGGEST GAME OF THE YEAR in MAC WBB--all those conferences games were just window dressing leading up to this match up. It is what the whole season has been working up to, so where is the excitement? Sterling1man is the only cheer leader on the thread and he is a NIU fan for goodness sake who doesn't even have a "dog in the fight" (so to speak).
Frankly I would have been a little disappointed if CMU had been upset because to "be the best, you have to beat the best" and this rubber match is a great opportunity to make a clear and unambiguous statement that leaves no question in anyone's mind just who is the best WBB team in the MAC this year. At CMU their coach took a microphone and made a few comments to the crowd after the game----she was very gracious but she made the point that we had just witnessed a game between two very good teams and she fully expected a rematch in Cleveland--and although she was probably thinking about the finals, not the semi-finals, her intent was clear. This is classic stuff and should be fully enjoyed. Never underestimate the value of experience and this team is loaded with senior experience. After being so close but yet so far from a MAC Tournament Championship and a trip to the NCAAs for every year they have been here these seniors are on a mission, so tomorrow should be fun.
So where is the "Suzzie Sunshine Corps", brimming with confidence when you need them to get folks pumped up?

Well said. Central should be afraid of us.

Just rolled into Cleveland and anticipate the Cuyahoga River will go smokin' through my dreams and the Rockets will go smokin' through CMU's.

Can't wait to get there tomorrow. UT will beat the evil Huns from Mount Pleasant. CMU is like the villain from some 80's horror movie that just won't die. I can't wait to watch UT put the final stake in hearts of Evil Sue and the Chippewha's. The Chips don't have the maturity to pull it off. Good will triumph over evil and UT will be playing Saturday!!!

I'll be curious to see how much "offense/defense" switching we do today...Recker in on D to hound Bradford as much as possible and then giving her (Recker) some time to catch her breathe between possessions by putting Baumgartner in on offense?
Bradford is a player--she will get her points, much like Naama will get hers--but Bradford also has shown the ability to self-destruct at times.
I think the keys here for our Lady Rockets are rebounding, making the other Chips beat us (watch those 3s), and bench play.
Go Rockets!!!

Chips answer with a 3, and then the Rockets turn it over. Then Central hits another 3.
Not good. Richardson answers with a 2.
Chips answer with another 3. That needs to stop now. 9-4 Central.
