Big Ten / ACC challenge....
Just occurred to me that Fox owns a majority share of the BTN. Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2 will be the home of the Big East.

Fox has a vested interest in ending the ACC/B1G challenge in favor of the Big Ten/Big East.

I'd be interested to see the contractual obligation of the Big Ten/ACC challenge...Fox will like that cross-pollination.

I'd much rather have a Big East/Pac-12 challenge at first. Win a few of those and get some street cred before taking on the big dogs. We would get whooped playing the B1G next years. Also they have 14 and we have 10 right now. They can leave out some of the bad teams and we can't.

The ACC/Big Ten Challenge is an ESPN-created event, so none of those games were ever on the BTN. Outside of the fact that the Big Ten might very much want to kill the ACC by raiding it, as long as the first tier basketball contracts for both leagues are with ESPN, that series will continue. It's not an accident that it was the first non-conference challenge that was created and it's the only one among the power conferences that has survived.
