On Div1 standing, Butler and X gives the New Big East 6 for Men's Baseball, which makes the third Men's Team sport required of a non-football Div1 conference.

SLU lets the New Big East sponsor Men's Swimming, while Richmond would help the New Big East out with Lacrosse. Marquette will be annoyed at starting up a Lacrosse team to join the Big East Lacrosse competition and then see it fall apart ~ Rutgers next year would give them a 6th to act as a bridge, but there's no telling how long Rutgers would be available, and Richmond would give cover for that.

OTOH, SLU has an MCLA Lacrosse program, so they might be prevailed upon to take some of their new athletics revenue and start up a Div1 Lacrosse program.

Creighton plays at the home of the CWS (TD Ameritrade Park) and I think that would make 7 baseball teams in the Big East.
