Lance sent me three more emails late last night and this AM. I guess the guy isn't used to debating someone when he can't just talk over them and end the call. He moved the argument to booing at the game saturday. When I responded to it and said the booing was at one frustrated point during the game and doesnt mean the fan base is divided he literally asked me why I was talking about the booing (after he brought it up!) and then suggested I thought booing kids was okay. Seriously the guy either doesnt read or has ADD or is just really really dumb. He then went on to compare UK's fanbase to ours and how they would never boo anything at rupp arena. So now the debate is about who has better fans. I finally told him I was done, he had obviously skipped the logic classes at Butler or is insufferable ego and hard head were too stubborn to actually address and debate the point I was making. Mind boggling.

Anyway, I just can't bear letting a guy with a radio mic get away with this kind of divisive crap. He claims he's been talking to Mick and Whit about it and they totally agree that there's a big problem. It makes me sick. I guess he thinks if he keeps saying something long enough and people think it is an issue. It is similar to the media negativity around our programs over the year. They harp on attendance, how we'll never succeed as a football program, how nobody can get over Huggs and sooner or later people hear it long enough and think the stuff is all true.

That is an argument that drives me insane. Lance and other local media (and in fairness some fans too) always want to compare us to UK (in basektball) and OSU (in football). That's not fair to UC. There are maybe only a hand full of schools in the country that can compare to those schools. The bar by which we should be measured on are schools in similar markets with similar resources and history--(Pitt is the best example but I would aslo throw in other schools in pro towns like Miami (FL), Boston College, USF, Houston).

Nothing has been made public yet, so I have to hold out on details for a few more days. What I can say is it will be a daily show covering everything in the region, but you can count on UC getting plenty of time and a fair shake if I'm involved... 04-cheers

I hope there is a splash of advertising about the new show so everyone knows.
Will put your channel on the auto memory dial to tune in.

That's why I was kind of happy to see Huggs gone.

You can appreciate what a guy/coach has done but also feel they've gone as far as they can take your program. His constant failures in the Big Dance, and never having beaten a higher seed were bothersome too.

My real beef was I felt after the K-Mart injury and disappointing end to what was going to be a great season, that Huggs kind of fell apart and so did recruiting. Between his mom dying, his heart attack, his excessive drinking, and womanizing.......it seemed Huggs was preoccupied and couldn't do his job to the best of his ability. And he may have just become bored or comfortable.

I thought the best thing for both Huggs and UC was to part ways. It just happened in a terrible fashion and at a bad time, which was Zimpher's fault. Causing us to lose 2 recruiting classes.

Huggs seemed a bit rejuvenated, and UC unfortunately got to rebuild.

But the Huggs you see this season is the direction I saw Huggs heading.

Pretty much agree. With Fortson, Martin & Logan, we were in the running for an NCAA championship. After Logan, we were Top 25-good, but not National Championship-good. However, it's something of a canard to say Huggins never beat a higher-ranked team in the tourney. That's because his teams were so good, and were seeded so highly that he didn't have many chances to play higher-seeded teams.

Regardless, I wanted the program to move forward from Huggs, not backward. While Mick has his good points, the bottom line is that the on-court results aren't up to those achieved by Huggins during his time here. Mick is simply not bringing in the talent to compete for NCAA or BE championships. His top recruits (Yancy, LS, Cash, SK) aren't the problems: they'd be nice gets for any program in the country. However, the "average" or "typical" Mick recruit simply doesn't compare with what we used to get, or what we need going forward, and people shouldn't be maligned as Huggins shills for pointing it out.

Anyone remember back in the day (voy boards?) when he was going to sue us all for insulting him? Then he made a big point of taking his ball and going home, like the board wouldnt be able to survive without him.

Good stuff 03-lmfao

He starts with stating that the booing was "Huggins people" directed at Mick. When that did not work, he cracks on the booing itself. I actually agree with Lance, that I am no fan of boo-birds either. But, stick to the point about the booing being because of "not getting over Huggins".

ADD - sounds about right Murph 04-bow

I need to give Lance a screen shot of my facebook. It is filled with angry UK fans tearing their team to pieces.

I remember the cincinnati.com board but can't remember it's name. I think there were several voy boards. Then someone had a board that you could actually play games on and it kept who had the high score. Not sure who's board that was.

Most days I wouldn't care but the basketball team just won a BE tourney game and his first instinct was to post something that was negative. The lawsuit is from his time at Auburn I believe so I don't really care.
