The days of mediocrity are coming to a close!
Last week I brought up the subject of the basketball coaches being on shaky ground. Some of the replies were he/she have done a good job. There is a huge difference between good and mediocre. Being black or buying out contracts also became an issue in the discussion. The bottom line is that this university has an agenda....one that began last October, and that agenda is to change the culture in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. In the last 60 days the AD and now Women's Basketball coach have been seperated from the Athletic Department. You can buy into "I want to pursue new endeavors" or "I want to spend more time with my family". Whatever the reason, there is change in the air. This University is no longer going to accept mediocrity.

People talk about Coach Phil Fulmer being the HC of a a newly established football program. I don't see that happening because when the first game is played he will be in his late 60s. His HUGE contribution to the university will be one of donations. Not only what he can bring to the table but what his close friends can bring also. The new AD has a number of influential friends that could also become major players.

Bill Snyder at Kansas State is 73 and started his second go round there in 2009. He also just signed a contract extension though 2017. I don't see age being a factor. I don't think Fulmer will be coach for other reasons but not age.

The age deal is not my opinion. i agree with you. From what I understand is that this was his reply.
