Great story. We have given him grief this year. After reading this aricle, I'm a little ashamed of myself.

I've always liked him. It seemed like he treated basketball more like hockey though. He could always be counted to foul someone hard.

With his speed and size, I wonder why he isn't playing soccer for a club in the U.K. ?

Pretty good @ soccer doesn't equate to being able to play for a club in the UK. He's fast, and strong, but I don't think he's got the cutting skills to keep up with smaller, quicker soccer players.

Peter Crouch has been hanging on for over a decade. Being tall goes a long way in the box on either side of the ball.

Man's got heart for certain. Many in his shoes would have moved on. Fortitude seems to be a character trait many kids lack now and could take some notes from this young man.

Right... But ASW has 2 inches and like 80lbs on crouch.

I'm with Suede on this one. I have played soccer my whole life, and for whatever reason the extremely tall players never seem to pan out. If you look at many of the best players in the world, they aren't close to ASW's height.(or even Crouch's) It's really a weird sport at times. Some of the best players I have ever seen are the slowest and least athletic. Some of the worst have been the fastest and most athletic.

Can ASW catch a football? He sort of fits that mold of the elite TEs in the NFL.

He played rugby.

Anyways, I hope he can play pro basketball in the UK. It looks like that's what he wants.
