The teams that jumped ahead (Purdue [won P1G tourny] and Iowa St [won first 2 games of Big 12, play Baylor tonight]) played because of their conference tourny. When UT wins their 2 games, that should jump them back in.

At least they picked up 14 votes from 64 to 78.

Most recent bracket projection has the Rockets as a 12 seed playing 5 seed Delaware. I like that matchup.

That would be a fun match-up. They would only have to worry about one player, albeit a First Team All America.

Far better match-ups!
With Naama at the helm Toledo should have many fans in Newark.
Will worry about Spokane later, but love the confidence on this board.

RE: UT women drop out of top 25
Well I am pissed that they dropped out of the poll. To me it's a slap in the face to all of the young women on the team, as well as Coach Cullop. They earned the right to be ranked. This is just more proof that the idiots who do the voting have tunnel vision for the big schools in power conferences. Say what you will about strength of schedule - if you play a tough schedule and lose 10 games, you have STILL lost 10 games. If Toledo played 10 games against top ranked teams and lost them, I guarantee they wouldn't be ranked and you wouldn't hear people talk about their strength of schedule giving them the upper hand in seeding, etc. It's all just a bunch of bulls**t. They have a completely different set of rules for the big boys.

Of course they do. That is why the BIG conferences that make up about 20-25% of all the conferences playing Division I Basketball typically get about 90-95% of the Tournament At-Large Bids.

BUT---unlike football, basketball does have a tournament with at least 1 team from all 31 conferences, so although the "mid-majors" commonly have to overcome poor seeding they still have a chance to compete (even though the playing field is still not perfectly level) head-to-head on the court.

With all the senior experience and talent this is the Lady Rockets' year and they need to make the most of it.

No one changed their votes down. Toledo went from 64 to 78 votes. Just happened that it took more votes to be in the top 25. Lots of turmoil with FSU and Nebraska droping, and Purdue doing a lot in one week to move.

If Toledo had lost votes I would be pissed.

Well they moved up in the coach's poll to 27th so really upward in both polls as far as votes go so that is good.

Lady Rockets are well positioned to win out and get a great seeding which should put them in the second round.
