That's actually 11 teams in 19 years, but your point is well taken. That number could actually rise to 13 in 20 years if MT and Southern Miss are left out this year.
What makes that even more upsetting is that if the tournament had been a 68 team tournament those years (other than Harvard in 2011) then you would have to assume that at least half of those teams get in.

Point is, for 2 teams with rpis under 35 to be left out now that the tourney is up to 68 teams would prove that the NCAA is catering to the "power" conferences by placing more of their teams with rpis in the 50s in the tourney over the "mid-major" conferences who have teams with rpis in the 30s.

It would be a crime to not let MT in the NCAA this year. I know there's lots of other "bubble teams" but seriously, what team gets Top 25 votes (we were #26 last week in Coaches' Poll) and doesn't get in?

No top 50 wins man, sorry. Would love to see them in but this going to hurt. I think they will be a one seed in the NIT though.

MTSU best win versus Ole Miss (RPI 56)
USM best win versus Denver (RPI 57)

Unlike MT, we have one more chance left to fix that.
