Heck, we don't even come close to matching up against SMU, height and weight wise.
Speaking of Indiana, back when UAB played Indiana in Bloomington in the Final Sixteen, UABs big men Anchrum(6'11")250lbs, Speer(6'8")240lbs, Giles(6'8") Leon Morris(6'8"), and Craig Lane(6'6")245lbs, although Craig was, at the time, suffering through back spasms throughout every tournament game. Craig played only 14 minutes against Indiana. He had picked up his fourth foul early in the second half. Craig did not foul out but three other UAB players did foul out, including Leon Morris, who played 24 minutes, substituting for Lane.
Here is a link to an article about that game and it also has the final statistics at the bottom of the page. Interesting statistics.

Yes, you are right. Coach Haase and UAB, in the upcoming years, are going to have to figure out how to add to their roster, enough big men to be competitive against usually much taller teams who regularly play in every years NCAA Tournament in order to have a chance for UAB to be an NCAA Tournament caliber team, every year.
That is the biggest disadvantage that UAB has had for years, lack of height and weight in the paint, or big man depth on the bench, and one big man cannot carry the entire load. UAB needs at least two or three big and tall men on the roster, every season.
That is why Memphis is so strong and effective every year. They always have a couple of big and tall players in the starting lineup and a couple or three more waiting on the bench.
I hope Coach Haase will be successful at signing "BIG MEN" to UABs roster, in the future. That is certainly of utmost importance.
