If you had told me twenty years ago that there would be bowl games even more obscure than the Independence Bowl, and that these bowls would be perceived as
legitimate things for USM to aspire to... I would have gone to LSU.

So you think UConn, Temple, and Navy are more attractive than Syracuse, Pitt, BC, UVA (about the same distance as Pitt)?

I don't see it.

When you see all of two dozen cuse or pitt fans show for the first game at your place you will understand.
How's bc represented down in NC lately? Are you excited about the prospect of going to see a football game played in an open air baseball stadium in the Bronx in Dec? Exactly my point.

I have never been to a fb game at Rutgers. But I have seen how Rutgers fans travels to Syracuse. I will say this: Judging by the amount of Rutgers fans that show up to the Carrier Dome, I just have to believe that SU brings at least as many fans as Rutgers maybe a whole lot more.

I've been to several different BE schools for games over the years. As poorly as you think RU travels to cuse, we were probably one of the better traveling schools. VT from the original line-up traveled well. Miami brought a ND like subway fan base that had more to do with routing for a winner than routing for the school. In the BE 2.0, WV had the best traveling fan base that I saw.
That all being said; I took a look at the pictures of the dome for football the last few years. Are you sure that their weren't more RU fans than SU fans at that game in '11? it isn't high ticket demand that has driven cuse to sell its best OOC game to the NJSEA and play a "Home Game," out of state every year.

Not worth taking the bait on this poor attempt at trolling.

The one concellation, the A12 should probably go undefeated in bowls each year.

Its been well publicized that SU wants to market itself to the NYC audiance. Besides, media reports have stated that the promoters of those games in the NYC area pays SU much more than they would make at the 49.700 seat Dome. Besides being the home team, SU is guaranteed $5 million to host the other big name opponent. THAT is why SU plays the game there every season.

$5 million Guarantee

I'm sorry you fell that way. I know it is hard for many fans to speak frankly about any problems at their schools. Have a nice day.

Pinstripe will probably become B1G/ACC.

Liberty Bowl will probably degenerate down to level of Independence Bowl as BCS conferences continue to seek warm weather sites and/or domed stadiums versus fellow BCS opponents.

Future Nbe/A12 Bowls:
1. Liberty vs CUSA
2. Birmingham vs CUSA
3. St. Pete vs CUSA
4. New Orleans vs SBC
5. Military vs MAC
6. Independence vs SBC

I wouldn't be so sure about the Pinstripe going BIG/acc. Maybe if UConn is poached. Otherwise, the TBA would have two schools located closer than either northeastern acc school. Both of them and Navy if it joins, would be more likely to bring bigger crowds than any acc school not named cuse.

Nice Hyperbole...You realize my tailgate group brought 200 fans to Tulane, nearly that to USF and I have 150 signed up so far for Maryland for this Fall?

I will there was 42k+ attendance at the game...at least 37k actual IMHO. Maybe 1000 were Rutgers fans...more likely 750.

If you took 200 to Tulane you had 150 more than the home team. Yes a SMU fan talking attendance smack

Notre Dame Terry and QuoVadis attended the game as guests of my group. I'd say we had 2000 Cuse Fans and Tulane had 2000 fans.

Mark,

RU did about the same for Tulane and we had to deal with a hurricane. What that shows is fans will travel if it to a fun destination or an interesting match up. RU/SU has been neither lately.

But you said Cuse will bring "two dozen fans"...College Park, MD in mid November can't be claimed to be a fun destintation yet my tailgate group is bringing 150 or so in March. BTW, I'm capping tix sales at 200. So what is it? Either Maryland is NOLA or you have no idea how well Cuse will travel along I-95.

If your numbers are correct you brought ten percent of all cuse fans to Tulace. It sounds like your tailgate party is the X factor. You should have come to P'way for our last game. Maybe cuse section would have had more orange in it.

2000 just a guess...really tough to figure crowds in a cavern. LOL

I won't argue with you how many we brought to P'way...but we have always traveled more there than you guys have to Cuse.

Mark's tailgate parties are big fun. Great food, Great people. Some of these people have their vehicles completely decked out for tailgating. Amazing. In fact I saw one of the fine mess tailgating guys on tv today sitting next to John Wallace at MSG today.

BTW, Cuseroc...I might have a pair of $99 season tix available if interested. They are actually one of the best seats for $99. Aisle seats in a row of 6 seats just above the entrance to 307/308. You have no row in front of you just a beer ledge above the entrance.

Also, you might consider joining us at Maryland if you do one roadtrip this year. MD isn't bad now that 15 through PA is nearly all expressway now. I'm arranging for $20 tix through Maryland.

  I'll PM you Mark

You're welcome to join us Labor Day weekend for Penn State or Maryland during Veterans Day weekend....just send me a PM. 04-cheers

I'll check the RU schedule and let you know. We already talked about going to the game with friends who are PSU fans. I know it's cats and dogs living together weird. If there is no conflict we're in. I'll PM you about it in a few days when I know our plans. Either way, thanks!
