Great East sounds more like Great West than Big East. Join the WAC and cut out the middleman.

I had a friend today say that The America 12 sounded like a 12 inch sub you would've gotten from Subway after 9/11.

Metro 12 sounds much better than America 12.

In conversation I find it hard not to say "American 12" instead of "America 12".

I remember when the Great Midwest and Metro merged and held a name the conference. Newspapers printed a large list and some really good name from what I remember. Then like a Shot out of Hell came Conference USA. Everyone was sick to their stomach.

This is the kind of post that makes me laugh . . . what is "great" or "east" about this conference. The America 12 Conference (A/XII) doesb't anymore sound like Conference USA than the Great East sounds like a knockoff of the Big East . . . just sounds stupid.

The haters gonna hate no matter what we call ourselves. Nothing has changed . . .

America 12 is dead. Forever may it stay buried.

Conference members need to focus on getting it done on the field and earnig the markets respect. Then no one will give a crap what the name of the conference is.

Members geographics present naming challange. Consult your Presidents, AD's and media partners then name it. Move on.

Having a number is a bad idea for obvious reasons. If "SEC", "MAC" and "ACC" has worked for decades, why won't "EAC" or "NAC" work for our conference? We don't need cute - just a sensible name that won't be ridiculed.

Apparently not obvious to the Big 10, Big 12, Atlantic-10, or Pac-12, and they don't seem to be crying over any ridicule thrown their way.

Just call it, The Conference. It worked for The Band.
