Sure. I just seem to remember a lot of backtracking and denial about his status at the time. If he wins a Noble Prize we'll claim him and he'll show up on UT's recruiting video.

The fact that when choosing a user ID you chose to use the opportunity to rip on a rival rather than hype up your own program says a lot. And I'm sure Akron would certainly be taking the high road (no pun intended) if this were a KSU player getting busted.

Yep. Friendly fan bantering is fun, but gloating on outright failures like this don't reflect well on the MAC. But there's always a few in every crowd. I had Akron fans shouting "One and Done" at me in East Garage after last year's MACC game. People want respect for their team, but that comes with respect and successes of the conference.

I'm just glad that the game is tonight. It's been sold out for a week and it will be a very emotional night on a lot of levels(senior night, this crap, etc).

I'm much more interested in this game than I was 24 hours ago.

I've come to accept that some people will post/say dumb things. I assume most people recognize my username is a joke. Apparently, some are either too dull or too sensitive to pick up on the humor.

Give me a friggin' break. The same Akron fans who are among the first to point out problems elsewhere but never seem to acknowledge those in their own house are now appealing for a sense of justice. The "Golden Felons" are happy to learn of your new standards of decency, ksusucks.

When are Akron fans on this board to compliment anyone but themselves? Trying to recall the support for Northern in a BCS bowl. There may have been some, but not much. Don't think I saw any support for Ohio's Sweet Sixteen run just last year. My view is that when Zips fans want to talk about "the MAC" it means talking about them. Well, everyone's talking about the Zips. Congratulations.

This is bad for Akron, perhaps very bad. It's a bump in the road for the MAC. Get over yourselves.

Finally, people everywhere do stupid things. The AD of Northwestern had an interesting observation after he accepted some kind of citizenship award on behalf of NU Athletes. To paraphrase him, he said the award was an honor, but he was dealing with 600 college kids and it (NU's reputation) could change tomorrow. Quit pretending that the problems everywhere are also not problems at Akron and you might get a little empathy.

Next court date March 22nd. This is tough. There's something to be said about the company we keep, but it does sound like he signed for someone else's package at someone else's house. He can't be that ignorant.

Either way, Alex made an extremely stupid decision. Either his buddy screwed him over(in which case Alex still made a dumb move by signing off) or he was actually stupid enough to think he could get away with this. Common sense tells me that the latter is more likely. I just can't believe Alex would do something so dumb. It's hard to accept.
