I was 10yrs old and I will never forget Larry Finch dribbling out the clock against KSU, the comeback against Providece (as well as Ernie D's half court behind the back pass) and Bill Walton's 11 fouls!

The wonderful NCAA run made me a life long Tiger fan. The city vibe was electric.

I had to laugh when posters talk about their grandfather telling them about a 2 week period that I remember like it was yesterday.

Memories....

Not having to play SWLa or Houston on the way to St Louis
Marvin Barnes's knee
Keenon VS Walton was a great battle despite 21/22
Larry dribbling the last 30 seconds or so away while no one could catch him.
Those red, white, and blue warm-ups
Billy Buford's ability to change a game through his energy, much like DJ but on a little bit of a smaller scale
Watching that amazing freshman team before the varsity game of Washington, Wilson, Tunstell, Cook, Jones
Kirk Gowdy having no clue how to pronounce Keenon
etc
etc
etc

Ernie Digregorio and Marvin Barnes were bada$$ that year....that was some matchup between they, Kenon and Finch in the Providence game. Dang I'm gettin' up there myself...the year i became a lifelong Tiger fan at 13.

That WAS unreal! We parked our car near Winchester and literally ran to the terminal which had what seemed like 10,000 Tiger fans.

I wonder if Larry "Kenyon" called him "Kirk" Gowdy? :)

Great pic of Larry! Brings back great memories of that team. They made me a Tiger at 12. All I had to do was witness 1 game and I was dreaming . Couldn't wait to get the latest Sports Illustrated back then to read about the underdog Tigers tearing thru the NCAA that year. They're Legend as a team and what's better is that they were good people.
