I know it would have happened anyway but it sure makes Mr. Peanut look bad as commissioner. I would hate to have his job. Talk about stress.
When Benson was hired, I made the point that in his time as WAC commissioner nearly 20 different schools left the WAC(many of them joined and left under his watch) for a better conference. There were many who viewed his hiring as a bad thing due to that fact, I pointed out that if history is certain to repeat itself, his hiring was good news for anyone with aspirations of moving on to another conference.
Correct me if I'm wrong on the timeline, but I believe UNT and FIU had already accepted invites before Benson's arrival, but that would still mean WKU would be the third school in less than a year to move on under his watch.

I think he is just an idiot. told us that smith would not be suspended and then did not back up his word...

Well at least I don't have to waste any time or money going to sporting events for awhile.

So if true, only ASU, UL, ULM, and Troy will remain. The WAC ended with five original memebrs (SJSU, USU, LA Tech, Idaho, and NMSU). The only difference is the east has teams willing to move up.

Think about what you are saying. A few years ago WKU was a FCS team. Now because they are leaving, following your team does not matter. Will you be just as upset if App St or Ga Southern leave in a few years?
I guarantee you Troy vs Ga Southern or App St will quickly become a bigger game than F_U , WKU or NT ever was. That can't be said for everyone, but Troy will come out nicely with the potential rivalries.

No, I'm that upset that both of those schools may join this conference. WKU was in this league for a long time football be damned.
Notice I said sporting events and not football games.
Why in the hell would I want to watch Troy play Georgia Southern or App state in any sport? It is hard enough rooting for Troy in the first place.
Edit: it is mainly because the people in charge of athletics at Troy will spend 50+ million on an arena but won't fire a coach that should have been gone years ago. Basically, they bought us a nicer building to lose in. That is the type of crap Troy does.

There's a difference between being the best available option and being a good(let alone exciting)option.

If you must leave, please leave with class.
And make sure you give your vote to us good folks in Lafayette when and if our name comes up in the next round.

Who else is leaving C-USA? One school to replace one school.

On top of all of this Troy is stuck. No one wants our school. That's just icing on the cake.
