Fox Sports GO
So along with Fox Sports 1, Fox Sports also announced their own ESPN3
It's believed it will be like the NBC service (view games being shown on TV) while also having access to RSN events

RE: Fox Sports GO
eh if that's the way it will be set up, it's not really of much use to me.
I was hoping it'd have a lot of exclusive content like ESPN3.

It might but this presser was all about Fox Sports 1 while FSGO was buried

RE: Fox Sports GO
I don't think we will really know what Fox internet steam looks like until they get Fox1 and Fox2 on the ground. I still think ESPN is going to have to start out bidding someone for the 1st time in their history.
ESPN started in 1979, for their 1st 4-6 years they telivised anything they could. They would cover cliff diving, arm wrestling, a lot of rodeo's, anything that would let them shoot there. Once they finally became a respected network and got some big contracts in the mid to late 80s, they have never had to bid against anyone for their services. I think thats getting ready to change in the not so distant future.
I think Fox is getting in way to late though. I think in the next 7-12 years we are going to see all the conferences have their own network on the net set up like ESPN3 or the way the old ESPN Gameplan was set up. And you can either pay for a season pass to all conferece games or just your school. I think networks like ESPN and Fox Sports will be secondary one day.

I'll take this a step further. It won't just be the conference. The conference may hold the rights (if they're smart and get ahead of this) but the schools are going to have produce their own. I know we have talked about this before, but you need to have the infrastructure in place to live stream in production quality high definition or start building it now.

This technology is getting cheaper and far more portable. Much of what used to require bulky, expensive hardware in video editing can now be done as a software program, too.

RE: Fox Sports GO
I don't disagree there, but to put on production quality requires a significant enterprise to get the video, relay, graphics, etc., all developed into a cohesive and viable product. I think we have all seen the shoddy work some schools have put up on their websites. People aren't going to pay for that.
So, until the quality of a school-run production matches what you can get by turning your TV on, we're going to be stuck with paying out the rear for ESPN even if we're not watching it. To your point though a lot of this is getting easier and it's only a matter of time before most sporting events are going to be broadcast through live streams. That's why ESPN is trying to be out front with ESPN3 and why Fox Sports is launching theirs at the same time.
The big wildcard in all this is Apple, Netflix, Amazon and probably Google. It's not going to be long before you see them dive deeper into the sports world.

Freshy has acknowledged the alternatives you mention in other posts....basically it comes down to total domination of the world..."there can only be one" ....21st century oil it is
