RE: Weld: The Future of UAB
Frankly, all I've seen out of the Alabama state government is layers on layers of corruption and dumb. Twenty five years now and it has not changed, and the party involved makes only a cosmetic difference in the stupidity,

RE: Weld: The Future of UAB
A friend of mine was elected to be a State Representative. Half the town thought it was cool to have someone they know working for them in Montgomery. The other half prayed daily that he wouldn't be ruined/infected/corrupted by the rest of the long term politicians there. He came home a few years ago and is the County Judge.

I'd have voted for Davis if he'd won the nomination.

But given the choice between Bentley and that goober Sparks, I think I ended up writing in one of you guys.

RE: Weld: The Future of UAB
Davis would have won easily over Bentley. Republicans won it when the demos put up Sparks.

Davis ran an excrementally bad campaign and even lost the black vote to Sparks. He would not have beaten Bear's Dermatologist.

Let's look at that again. We elected as governor the idiot responsible for THIS skin:

But hey, yeeeehaw for the little R next to his name!

Davis is as conservative as any in this state. Had he been white, he would be voting in the state legislature like all the other former conservative Democrats turned conservative Republicans that are there now.

Had he not picked an unwinnable fight with his own constituency, he might have won the Democratic nomination for Governor if it is even possible for someone from Jeffco to be nominated.

Yes, I know Mountain Brook's own Luther Strange won the AG job, but his campaign HQ address was given as Montgomery, not MB. And hasn't he been doing a great job of killing gaming jobs so far? What he might do is sell those machines to the Creek Indian casinos at a discount and make some money for the state instead of destroying them.

He may have played for Tulane, but he's "Paul Bryant Jr's own Luther Strange," a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Greene Group, just like Dr. Dr. Bentley.
