I have no problems with that at all especially their exit fee being next to nothing.in addition, the fans at Creighton(17k) really come out and support their team. I expect nothing less especially now Creighton will be part of the Big East! This Gtown fan along with others welcome Creighton to the Big East Family!

Who on Twitter? Just a twitter rumor will not excite me. If Pete Thamel or Andy Katz are reporting it than i'll believe it. Anything else im not buying it.

The so-called Catholic 7, which is expected to add at least two more members before it begins competition in the 2013-14 school year, is made up of Georgetown, St. John's, Villanova, Seton Hall, Providence, Marquette and DePaul. Butler, Xavier and Creighton also will join the league, which will begin play in 2013, sources told McMurphy.

I think they announce all the teams at once officially. Three come in next year and the following two the next year. This way they get their years notice in and thus a smaller exit fee.

Odds are it will be 12 right away more cost effective. Plus Fox wants 12 and if its paying to get the C7 out now it will pay to get 12 teams.

I really hope Dayton ends up with you guys. They have a die-hard fan base and a great rivalry with Xavier, not to mention they're Marionist Catholic.

If neither divisions nor travel partners will not be used it favors Dayton. If there are going to be divisions or travel partners, this favors Richmond, or really any school east of Ohio. I'm presuming St. Louis will be in the Big East, but in theory both Dayton and Richmond could work if St. Louis stays put.

Guys...congrats on the TV contract. I wish all the C7 teams well. I plan to watch your games and root for you guys against other Power Conferences save for the ACC.

I hope Cuse can continue to play some games in the future with all the teams. Hopefully SJU and Georgetown yearly and Nova, Seton Hall and Providence once in awhile. We had a great run with Marquette too. It has been a great 30+ years in the Big East.

I really think annually you guys will be the 3rd or 4th Power BB league.

I'm personally rooting for all old Big East teams to kick ass in the ACC/B1G. Makes us all look good, but would be a sad reminder that we all really were in the greatest basketball conference of all time for 7 years from 2006-20013

Society of Mary (SM), Marianists. Father Chaminade (founder). The other universities are Chaminade in Hawaii and St Mary's in Texas. Different from MARIST as in Marist College
