NIU Football 2013!
Next year we have
@Iowa, @Idaho, VS. EIU, @Purdue, @Kent State, VS. Akron, @Central Michigan, VS. Eastern Michigan, @UMASS, VS. Ball State, @Toledo, VS. Western Michigan!

I know we have not started spring ball but I thought we could go over the teams we play.

Who do you think out toughest game will be against? I think it will be Ball State and Iowa then Kent State and Toledo are a close second!

Pre-spring ball predictions are 9-3! Another Bowl game for the program! I say we will get a L against one of the BIG 10 programs and then Kent State and Ball State.

RE: NIU Football 2013!
I really want Ball St to do well before our game otherwise it has all the looks of a trap game before Toledo.

We still have some recent demons @CMU that will need to be worked out. I expect them to be much tougher this season.

Toughest games in my order
1. Toledo
2. Purdue
3. Ball State
4. Iowa - I know Kinnick is a tough atmosphere, but I don't think too highly of what they have coming back next year
5. CMU
6. WMU
7. Kent St
8. Idaho - they suck but traveling that far sucks we do have a week off to prepare as well
9. Akron
10. EIU - not a trap game, but I just don't think highly of the last two opponents and we sometimes play sluggish against FCS
11. EMU
12. UMass

Anything less than 11 wins is a letdown...literally.

I just dont see BSU being a factor in the West this year, top 3 hardest games I think are 1) Toledo 2) Purdue 3) Iowa, the rest are kind of all in a big lump to me.

I don't know. The teams on the schedule are 12 teams we are probably better than. However, you have to translate that into how the schedule is set up. We are by far the front runners of the MAC West with BSU and Toledo. But we play a lot of road games and the front half of the schedule reminds me a lot of the 2010 year. I think we have the talent to win at least 11, but I think the lack of HS games in the beginning is a challenge, not to mention 3 of our toughest games are all pitted back to back at the end of the season when teams are gearing up for the run. Talent and team to go 12-0, schedule sets up for a 9-3 or 10-2.

Anything can happen. I think its worth noting that Ohio, after beating Penn St. last year, was suppose to go undefeated through the regular season. They finished 9-4. Don't be disappointed with a 10-2 or 9-3 season this year.

The 'literally' was meant to indicate the 'letdown' if we don't match our win totals in recent seasons - 11, 11, & 12.

I am totally expecting some disappointment this season...though a 9-3 record would still be respectable.

That would also mean that this 2013 SR Class will be the winningest class ever.

We've had 3 fairy tale years in a row...I would be ok with 10-2 or 9-3.
I WOULD like us to keep our home game winning streak going though. I LIKE not remembering what it's like to lose in Huskie Stadium! 03-cloud9

With this schedule I would be very happy with 9 wins, its 12(11) FBS games, 7 away from home, 9 wins is a great season. Having said that I want more of the BCS busting mania this year if at all possible!

We could play Alabama in the Sugar bowl, the fact that we are 1-0 against them would make Herbstreit implode.

Ball St without a doubt our toughest game.

Need as many as possible in the stands for that one!
