Thoughts on alternative tournaments
aside from the NCAA and NIT. Some of our schools have accepted invites to the CBI, et al in the past. We have a discussion going on our board that is pretty split on whether we should accept an invite to one of those if offered. Thoughts in regard to those tourneys, and if you'd want your school to accept or decline?

Wish we had declined a few years back for the CIT or CBI whichever it was.

Waste of time and money. We paid to play in the tournament and lost. Have no idea what the benefit was...

Another 2-3 weeks of practice and telling recruits you aren't one of the 200+ schools that sat at home.

I think anytime your team has a chance to play more especially in a tournament it is a good thing. Experience never hurts even if it is the CIT.

Problem with South is that we have an interim head coach. If he is going to be our coach next year, it could be beneficial, if we are going another way for coach, we should stay home.

For a first or second year head coach with a young team, yes.

5th year head coach with an experienced team, no.

Supposedly ASU has already been invited to one of those tournaments. I have no idea what Brady will do. Id rather play in the 68 team one personally.

RE: Thoughts on alternative tournaments
CBI and CIt or whatever they are IMO are crap tournaments. You should not have to pay to play. It is a way for coaches to earn extensions and raises for sub par seasons.
