Who hosts the Conference Tournament next year?
I don't think there's been an announcement. It's strange, because in the past it would have been known by now. All that we can see is that Mercer articles term this the "final tournament hosted by Mercer".

So will 2014 be on a neutral site? Possibly the higher seed gets to host the final?

An article that was published in the Marietta Daily Journal (Local Newsapaper around Kennesaw State) about 5 months ago stated that the host site for next years tournament would be the highest seed, and that the ASun would revisit the idea of a host site after next season. While it is a local news source they tend to do their research before posting articles of this nature.

Thanks for the info. That seems like a fair idea. Although the tourney at Upstate for example would be a little tight.

I think the league would require minimums to host, whether it be seating, hotels, etc.

A LITTLE TIGHT?!

Think a size small set of spandex on Rosie O'Donnell.

Go on. Take it in mentally.

That being said ... why does it HAVE to be on a member's home court? The Bi-Lo Center in Greenville, SC would do just fine.

Thanks for that mental image!!

If Upstate has a nice size arena in town, that would work! I didn't think of that.

They've also got Furman and Wofford in Greenville, so they can play at either of their venues. Not ideal, but it is an option.

Wofford is too small. Furman has the most bizarre basketball arena layout of all time. Seriously. Go look it up.

RE: Who hosts the Conference Tournament next year?
Seems like a rather odd concept. The seedings are not complete until the Saturday before the Wednesday tournament start. Not much time for the host to arrange, nor for the fans to make arrangements to go. In the case of JU, I am very sure that the VM Arena will not keep open the dates betting on JU to host. And take out a loan to pay for a last minute airline ticket from Nashville, Knoxville, Greenville, etc. to Ft Myers in March.
