I forgot how much of a MORON r2pirate was/is. Thanks for bumping this thread and yea it's still a lateral move in football since they have NO better access to the playoff, NO autobid to New Years 6 Bowl, NO chance i that will change...ever. The only thing football wise they hang their hat on is a TV contract that was signed awhile ago. Lame as the nonsense that was spewed prior to their exit.

3rd variety: ancient rivalry, like notre dame vs southern cal or georgia/goergia tech

you got the tulsa part right

I don't know if any team will be able to keep Navy on deck
okay

yeah navy would give their left nut to get out and be independent again. its been such a disaster so far

it sailed back again

I like the regional feel of this conference with great destination areas. Totally on board with CUSA. Nobody in their right mind would pay the exit fees and entry fees to play in that dumpster fire of the "conference to be named".
the part about cusa is still true in spite of everything that happened

thanks to new media deal, thats one problem we dont have to worry too much about

BS if you think its not a lateral move. Keep telling yourself that. You are out of your mind if you don't think it is. The bowl situation for you guys is yet to be determined by starting a new conference with a new name and you cant tell me that the exit fees AND entry fees is a good investment for a few extra hundred grand a year. Get real for once.

You guys are just butt hurt over the fact that you got duped and lied to. That's the bottom line. Anybody with half a brain would not have jumped to that conference with that little bit of TV money increase. You know that and I know that. Just admit it. I've seen others admit it like Memphis fans etc. Hell, even the Temple people are threatening to pull out if they don't get some teams on the Northeast. You will be playing with Buffalo and UMass before long.
finally, the voice of wisdom

theyve still got their eye on army. who knows if that will ever happen or not, but it happened with navy

Nasty ole buddy, I have to disagree with you on this, its not a lateral move at all. Its a downhill move that gets worse by the day

charlotte turned to be way better than i thought 03-pissed

Quote:At this point, we either seek out an invitation to what we already know, with its comfortable ceiling and well-known floor, or we see what the dimensions will turn out to be in the reconfigured CUSA. In short, I can see why fans would want to go to the old BE, but there is something to be said for staying where we are and trying something new.
not much choice in the matter, anyways
