Longwood Wins On Road At Western Carolina 4-1

CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Junior Matt Dickason/Chesapeake and sophomore Conner Hall/Mechanicsville each collected two hits and an RBI to lead visiting Longwood University to a 4-1 non-conference baseball victory at Western Carolina University of the Southern Conference on Tuesday night in Cullowhee, North Carolina. Senior Kyler Morgan/Lancaster, Pennsylvania gained the pitching win for the Lancers (3-2) with the first 6.0 shutout innings, and sophomore Aaron Myers/Newport News gained the save with the final 3.0 innings on the mound. Bryant Noteboom had two hits to lead the Catamounts (3-5), and Adam Curtis took the pitching loss for the hosts

Longwood Falls At Western Carolina 8-5

CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Aaron Attaway had two hits and two RBI, and Bradley Strong also had two RBI to lead Western Carolina University of the Southern Conference to an 8-5 non-conference baseball victory against Longwood University on Wednesday afternoon in Cullowhee, North Carolina. Taylor Sandefur gained the pitching win for the Catamounts (4-5) with the first 6.0 innings, and Tyler Powell gained the save with the final inning on the mound. Junior Matt Dickason/Chesapeake had four hits to lead the visiting Lancers (3-3), and classmate Alex Owens/Purcellville had two RBI, while sophomore Brandon Vick/Newport News took the pitching loss. Longwood will return home to host the University of Buffalo of the Mid-American Conference for a three-game weekend series, March 1-3, at Charles Buddy Bolding Stadium in Farmville.

Longwood Defeats Buffalo In Series Opener 5-2

FARMVILLE, Va. -- Freshman Kyri Washington/Prospect had two hits and two RBI, and juniors Matt Dickason/Chesapeake and Alex Owens/Purcellville each had a hit and an RBI, to lead Longwood University to 5-2 non-conference baseball victory past the University at Buffalo of the Mid-American Conference on Friday afternoon at Charles Buddy Bolding Stadium in Farmville. The Lancers (4-3) scored three runs in the sixth inning to break a 2-2 tie, as freshman Blake Ream/Yorktown earned the pitching win with the first 6.1 innings, and sophomore Aaron Myers/Newport News gained the save with the final shutout inning. Jon Mestas had two hits and two RBI for the Bulls (4-4), and Mike McGee took the pitching loss with the first 6.0 innings. Longwood and Buffalo will continue their three-game weekend series on Saturday, March 2 at Bolding Stadium in Farmville beginning at 1 p.m.
