I was showing the double-standard between BC$/non-BC$ conferences, then said that I feel like the P1G is overrated. Just because I feel they are overrated doesn't mean that I think the MAC is better.
yeah.... because 5 teams in the top 25 and 3 in the top 10 means a conference is overrated. have you been hanging out with Kit Kat lately?????
Seriously Stop talking.
Go hang out with Kit Kat some more.

I don't think so. There are top teams that can challenge the top teams in the B1G. But overall there isn't a top conference that is tough through the top 7/8 teams. Maybe the Big East??? But that's a stretch. The B1G hasn't been this good in a long time.

Ohio State beat #2 Indiana, the same Indiana team that had been #1 for a number of weeks, 67-58 in Bloomington on Indiana's Senior Night.
Anyone still want to make the case that the Buckeyes wouldn't beat a MAC team twice? Or once?

OSU is very inconsistent, however if they showed up they wouldn't have any trouble with Akron. IMO, the Zips are very overrated. They took advantage of a weak MAC this year and generally any team with a pulse, Akron struggled against.

The same Indiana that had previously lost to 4 unranked teams.

Yes, and the same Indiana that has beaten 6 ranked ones, including OSU.
Since you seem to know, point out the bad loss IU has on their selection committee record. Here you go:

RE: Cleveland Plain Dealer: Why Ohio State would beat Akron in a Potential Matchup
Ohio State has more talent overall than Akron, but not so much more that the Zips might not beat them. On the other hand, Akron has more talent overall than Illinois, but Illinois can beat anybody when their perimeter players get hot. If Akron played in the Big Ten and had half their games in the JAR, I think they would finish behind OSU but ahead of Illinois.
There is absolutely no comparison between the MAC and the Big Ten in basketball this year (not so much of a difference in footballl though), but that was not the original question. Akron totally dominated the MAC this year, over half of the Big Ten teams would have been able to do the same, but that does not make them better than Akron, it just means they could have done as well as Akron. I don't actually think Illinois could have gotten through the MAC with only 1 loss, they are too inconsistant.
