I bet that we pick up at least 2 of those for our conference games.

I am guessing the Kent and CMU games get picked up for ESPN Regional (WPWR).

The CMU game is their homecoming so I don't know if they will be ok with an 11am game.

Also the Kent St game I still think could get moved to Friday night on ESPNU.

What is the deal with STO that we have? There is nothing mentioned about it in the MAC press release, only additional ESPN regionals games being announced.

The MAC has an agreement for 3-5 games. Before it was just Ohio teams but now that Fox bought them out I am hoping for an NIU game to be picked up...even if its in Ohio

I like STO. They usually televise one or two of our baskeball games a year. This year, they televised a women's home game (vs. Miami of Ohio).

STO is great! I wish the MAC football game of the week was on this channel.

I don't mind 5 games if its cheaper for season tickets.

I am not missing a home game so with the kids a 6th game kills my free time and getting stuff done.

John, there is no good that can come from this home schedule. NIU should not charge anything for season tickets this year.

The annual highlight of the home schedule will take place on Saturday, Oct. 19 when defending MAC champion and Orange Bowl participant Northern Illinois comes to Mount Pleasant for Homecoming.

Hope Doeren and the Wolfpack rough them up a bit a few weeks before and then we get revenge for that damn 2011 loss up there. I can't believe we were their homecoming game, granted they didn't have any options besides us but I hope we whoop them on that day.

We played so bad in Mt. Pleasant that day. Our defense was awful.

We haven't lost a MAC game since.

Main competition for the West schedule:

Toledo:

Sat 8/31 - @ Florida
Sat 9/7 - @ Missouri
Sat 9/14 - vs. Eastern Washington
Sat 9/21 - @ CMU
Sat 9/28 - @ Ball St.
Sat 10/5 - vs. WMU (Homecoming)
Sat 10/12 - BYE
Sat 10/19 - vs. Navy
Sat 10/25 - @ BGSU
Sat 11/2 - vs. EMU
Tue 11/12 - vs. Buffalo (E$PNU/3)
Wed 11/20 - vs. NIU (E$PN2)
Fri 11/29 - @ Akron (E$PNU/3)
Fri 12/6 - MACC (E$PN2)

Kinda similar to ours. A lot of road games early. @CMU, @Ball State, and @BGSU. If they make it out of that, November sets up really favorable for them.

Ball State
Thu, Aug 29 Illinois State Muncie, Ind. TBA
Sat, Sep 07 Army Muncie, Ind. TBA
Sat, Sep 14 North Texas at Denton, Texas TBA
Sat, Sep 21 Eastern Michigan * at Ypsilanti, Mich. TBA
Sat, Sep 28 Toledo * Muncie, Ind. TBA
Sat, Oct 05 Virginia at Charlottesville, Va. TBA
Sat, Oct 12 Kent State * Muncie, Ind. TBA
Sat, Oct 19 Western Michigan * at Kalamazoo, Mich. TBA
Sat, Oct 26 Akron * at Akron, Ohio TBA
Wed, Nov Central Michigan * Muncie, Ind. 8 p.m.
Wed, Nov Northern Illinois * at DeKalb, Ill. TBA
Fri, Nov 29 Miami University * Oxford, Ohio TBA

Ball State really should be 4-0 heading into the Toledo game. Outside of Toledo and Kent State, not sure I see a MAC game they'll realistic lose besides us.

Between Toledo and Ball State, it's probably going to take wins over both of them and at most 1 MAC loss to get to Detroit.

CFN record projections are out, NIU 9-3 overall with losses @ Purdue, @ Iowa, and @ Toledo. They have Toledo winning the West, but with all the losses on defense I think 9-3 would be a fantastic year, and I'll take that any time.

That would have been fantastic last year or next year but that record would disappoint most this year.

I see your point, 9-3 would be on the lower end of acceptable. I just hope NIU can beat either Purdue or Iowa at least. With the schedules 7 posted, it becomes very apparent to me that the Toledo/BG game is absolutely critical for NIU's chances, got to have a BG win there.

You know it might be a tough year again for EMU, when CFN projects your likely finish to be worse than the worst case:

Realistic Best Case Record: 5-7
Worst case scenario: 1-11
Likely finish: 0-12

Wow, Ball State has a favorable schedule. Much like '08 where their only challenging nonconference game was a bad Indiana team, they have a chance to run the table with this schedule.

BSU is my "biggest disappointment" projection for the West. I think things are going to be a little rough in Muncie this year.

4 of the first 5 games on the road? I don't like that at all. CMU in MT Pleasant not a pleasant place. Im not comfortable with this schedule and being THY target for everyone it is not the best of schedules.

Coming off our Orange Bowl appearance, we should have done everything possible regarding OOC scheduling to generate excitement and bring in new fans to Huskie Stadium. If that meant buying out Idaho and/or EIU, so be it.

Maybe if they accepted season ticket orders in December/January they would've had some cash to work with. Just dumb.
