CUSA will only get $2.5 million total combined from the schools leaving and the remaining schools will divide the $2.5 million 7 ways. The rest of the $6.5 million from each defector all goes to pay for the TV contract and CUSA will have to pay that back to the networks. Not sure why y'all thought your schools were going to get so much. So basically each remaining CUSA school will get around $357k total.

I didn't make this up. It's a part of the contracts. The $6.5 million goes to the Broadcast Partners (CBS Sports and Fox Sports). That penalty was listed in the contract if it was broken before it expired in 2015-2016. The $500k was the penalty agreed to be paid to the conference. With 6 teams leaving thats $3 million total, but i left out Houston due to their contact. So my numbers were off by $500k. The new additions probably won't get a share, of the $3 million. But that's up to the remaining schools.

No-Name fans haven't been right about the C7 schools leaving, who would get the Big East name, TV contract money, etc. Why should we think you're right now? We'll see what gets announced.

This really. The majority of the comments on here about money are nBE people trying to justify a move that (financially) didn't work out as they thought it would. I haven't seen anything of CUSA people gloating about a big payday from the departures.

Sunbelt gets NOTHING for its TV contract from ESPN, all they receive in return is exposure. Lets see what the next CUSA contract will be.... Then lets compare who made the right move or not.
