New Conference HQ
My guess is Atlanta. Saw an article that said all of the Prez were meeting there today to decide on the name sale and exit dates. Is that a hint of where the HQ may be permanently?

RE: New Conference HQ
I like that idea. Its a neutral location, close to the geographic center of the conference, a major city, and has a major airport with direct flights to just about anywhere.

I doubt it moves. NYC is the best location at this time.

Aligning with FedEx is not a bad idea.

Like the conference tournament talk, Memphis, Orlando, or Philly.

To be honest, I think it needs to be a city where a member is not located. NYC isn't bad. I think Atlanta is much better and is at the core of the conference.

The last thing this conference needs is an empty arena for the tourney (like the A10 has had in Philly and Atlantic City). Put it in Cincinnati, Memphis, or another city that has shown the ability to support conference tourney's in the past and at least make the crowd decent.

I think this is about the HQ and not the tourney.

RE: New Conference HQ
Nashville would be a reasonable central HQ location if we are trying to avoid a member school's city. .

I would not be surprised to the (insert new conference name here) conference basketball tournament and/or football championship game in Atlanta based on the other bad decisions being made.

Totally disagree.

You want the HQ in a "friendly media city" to the conf...and Memphis is VERY pro "whatever conf Memphis is in".

Put the HQ in a city without even a team...you would get ZERO publicity nor should you ever expect any.

The SEC has their tourney in Atlanta a lot and the ACC likes to jump in and have their tourney in Atlanta when the SEC's tourney is not in Atlanta.

No conf has their men's tourney in Atlanta this year though.
SEC women's tourney is in Atlanta area ( Gwinnett Arena )
