Will Big Country Conference (nBE) Invite ECU for all Sports
Everything I have read indicates the "Big Country Conference" (nBE) has not extended ECU an invitation for all sports. Is this acceptable to ECU?
Is ECU willing to put their olympic teams in the A-10 or CAA long term, since many of the best teams in those conferences are leaving? Has ECU received a full invitation for all sports and I missed it? If so please inform me.

Noooooooooooooooo!!! (Thats for Big Country.) ECU will be invited for all sports as soon as the C-7 are out of the way. Effectively, that could be as soon as Friday.

Why would ECU want that?

If Conference Muricah keeps ECU as football-only, that's more money for the all-sports to split.
I know USF, Cincy and UConn are probably all for keeping them as a football only

ECU should go back to CUSA or go independent if they aren't offered all sports.

Doubt it. Who really wants to keep the hybrid? Keeping that down to just 1 (Navy) is most likely all the hybrid any one in the Big East wants.
As for the money, there was a quote in an article that suggested the money amount included 10 all-sports teams...that would include ECU. They can't just exclude ECU and have the same overall contract amount to split. It just doesn't work that way.

So is that the reason they have not invited Tulsa, yet? so Tulsa will not get a piece of the pie.

Now that the Big Country Conference knows TV market alone is not what guarantees a big TV contract maybe ECU will start at new conference named "35plus". A school has to average at least 35,000 fans per game to be invited. Which teams in the nBE, CUSA, MAC or Sunbelt would qualify?

ECU all sports will be in...it was always intended for them to be in, but the C7 had to get out before they could come in.
That's not even in question, IMO...the big question is what happens with #12 and when. I still think the conference is trying to attract Army as a FB only member and then can stay at 10 all sports members. It really does make the most sense, giving Army more Bowl opportunities and potential nBCS access. The Army/Navy game is going to have to move its date, most likely anyway.

"Big Country"..... Is that the odds on favorite now? I like Conference America better than that.
If I got to pick I would go with "Great East".

ECU needs to be invited for all sports and their entrance expedited to 2013.

Agree with all of this.
ECU makes #10 in the all-sports group led by Aresco. Navy is still scheduled to come in as #11 for football-only in 2015. I doubt Navy will change its mind about joining, but I admit it is possible. I doubt Army will change its mind about not-joining for football-only, but I admit that is possible, too (I hope Army does join). If Army/Navy both join to make 12 for football and 10 for Olympic sports, then the league should and probably will hold there unless/until it suffers additional defections. Sixteen (!) schools have left the Big East over the past decade, so that is obviously an unstable arrangement.
If Navy joins but Army doesn't, and if everything else stays "as is", then the league would have 11 football members and 10 all-sports members. At that point, I think you would see an effort to recruit 1 more all-sports member, and one non-football member to facilitate the ease of scheduling: a 12-team league for football (11 all-sports + Navy) and a 12-team league for Olympic sports (11 all-sports + ???). If that actually happens, the next all-sports member would apparently be either Tulsa or UMass, and I hope the Olympic-sports member would be VCU, but that is (obviously) not yet determined.

You'll excuse my skepticism at being told how something works by someone who has affiliated themselves with a group that has been mostly wrong about everything.

You mean ESPN? Because that's the article I was referring to.

USA Today reports the "Big Country" conference agreed to look at exploring accepting ECU for all sports but seems to indicate they did not vote on the subject.
