I live in Texas, where everyone is from Pennsylvania, Illinois, or California. Not many Texans are moving to those states.

Sorry to bump this old thread, but nothing drives home this point like the current awful March here in MI. Once you reach that fifth consecutive month of grey, cold and snow with no end in sight, the South looks reeeaaallly appealing.

Sorry to bump this old thread, but nothing drives home this point like the current awful March here in MI. Once you reach that fifth consecutive month of grey, cold and snow with no end in sight, the South looks reeeaaallly appealing.

Honestly, I'd rather have snow that arrives and stays, compared to the back and forth of northern Illinois. Snow, then it melts, kind of. Mud. Then ice. Thaw. More mud. Rain mixed with snow. Rinse and repeat.

But we get our share of severe thunderstorms and tornados here, too. So it's a draw in that category.

Yeah, warmth is nice but we have to deal with huricanes and tornados. Each region has it's own weather to deal with I guess. I still don't like snow.

My sister always used to say "In Buffalo a storm comes and you're snowed in your house for a day or to. In Miami a storm comes and you have no more house"..
