UC holds off Providence 66-64
Providence had the last shot to tie and it was practically in the basket but bounced out. Bearcats now above .500 in the BE at 7-6, 18-9 overall. Very close to clinching an NCAA bid if they have not already.

You might need to win a game in the BET to clinch.

This is one tough league. You have to bring it every game.

I watched the game on Fox 19 and that last shot by Providence went way down in the basket and popped back out at the buzzer! I thought it was headed to OT.

The Bearcats managed to rally and win a game they had to have despite bad shooting and poor rebounding. Credit to them to pull it out to get the 7th conference win.

Great game by my Bearcats. Providence is going to be a team to contend with in the years to come. A lot of young talent.

Doubtful. 18 wins, a Top 10 (soon to be Top 5) SOS, a Top 25 RPI, a number of quality wins, most on the road, and right now a game over .500 in the best conference in America. That'll get us in.

Agreed....if we can win one more reg. season game, that will ensure us no worse than 8-8 in the best conference in the nation along with a sos top 5 and rpi top 20......we wouldn't need to win a be tourney game in this case....

Am I reading you correctly to say you are a lock now?

If so I really disagree. I think you need 1 more win somewhere. Otherwise you'd be ended the BE tourny on a 4 game losing streak, and would have been 7-9 and not even in the BE quarterfinals. 1 more win, anywhere, and you're in.

You could make it by losing the last 4 but I sure wouldn't count on it.

Agreed - as long as no more than one tourney championship upset from C-USA, West Coast, A-10, Colonial, and WAC.

One more regular season win absolutely nails it down - Especially since it guarantees a 'quality win'. With Syracuse melting down, the Syracuse win is a good win on the road but won't carry as much weight as beating Nova or the Eers would.

Cheers,
Neil

Possible wins.......

At Seton Hall: We are more talented, if we shoot well we win.

WVU: Senior night. Hicks and Whites last home game as Bearcats. Kennedy is 3-0 against teams the second time he has played them after losing the first time (Dayton, Louisville, Syracuse)

CollegeCard:
We are not a lock now....if we win one of our remaining three reg. season wins minimum....it will ensure at worst 8-8 in BE.....to go along with a SOS of #5 and RPI that will end up somewhere top 20.....we are saying that we would not need to win a BE tourney game in that instance. Of course, we still have to win that regular season game and it will have to come against either SH, Nova, or WVU.....easier said that done.

I think 2 of 3 would seal it, regardless of the goings on at the NYC party in March.

I agree. 20 wins and a .500 record in the best conference in the country will get you in the door.

I say we can get in with less than 20 wins....they are really going to be looking at our BE record.

We got into the NCAA in 2002 with 17 wins and we played in CUSA (of course I think we beat two or three top 10 teams that year but we still were like 17-12 so.....)
