Is he a facilitator or a stat stuffer? Either way I have to think that losing your starting point guard might cause you a problem or two.

You are correct and most on their boards didn't have much faith in winning this game after losing him..

At this point, we have to hope the Selection Committee really hates us and gives us an 11 or 12 seed. I would much rather be that than an 8/9.

Agreed, but they can be creative when it comes to disdain. I'm putting my 2ยข on a #9 seed facing #8 St. Louis. They're that cynical and capable.

Saint Louis is headed for a much higher seed than #8, so don't worry. It will probably be #12 Memphis vs. #5 Saint Louis.

Enough of the tear in the beer posts JMS. You're better than that. We will win out from here. This loss will help us in the tourney. Take that Sh1t to the bank. It's one bad half and loss...we were due for one. F the hacks05-nono

Thank you.

Tonight has been a roll call for the Miserables. Nice to see all you jerks. 03-nutkick

Damn, that hurts.

No, it doesn't. You relish it. You make me sick.

Quote:Is Dee Davis out tonight or is it game time decision? I'm not liking Xavier as much without him.

not sure if that backup can do the job. maybe he will clean it up tonight

Amos is still not fully recovered from groin injury too. I think Memphis is the play here.

if Davis is out, that really hurts Xavier's chances to score 60, which is what I think they'd need for this one to go over.

Davis actually matters quite a bit. He is frustrating on offense but he's Xavier's best perimeter defender and there is absolutely nobody else who can be relied on to handle the ball on the bench. He's also the only reliable 3 point shooter other than Redford, who will be hard pressed to get a shot off tonight. I actually thought Xavier could've had a chance to win with a healthy Davis, as Pastnor is a poor in game coach and Cintas is a tough place to win (albeit a lot easier in this awful down year) but I think Memphis covers tonight, barring an absolute explosion by Semaj.

Despite playing without guard Dee Davis and coming off a loss in which they squandered a 17-point second-half lead, the Musketeers managed a 64-62 win Tuesday against a ranked Memphis team that had won 18 games in a row.

Xavier out-rebounded Memphis, 45-36

Xavier held opponents to just 20 points in the first half two previous times this season, against Kent State on December 9 and against George Washington on January 12.

One guy even said D.J. should be thrown off the team because he went 1-7 from the line.

That should be banning bait.

I agree, I am going to find it and reported. I will let you guys know the post number in the thread.

Good God, get DJ off this team. I could care less about his dunking skills. He has no business playing D1 ball.

Jeez what an idiot. DJ has been a life saver this year...just had a bad night at the line.

I don't care who they match us against or where, I just want to see this team come out and play smart and hard for 40 minutes. This game tonight was disappointing and one we should have won...easily..

Corrected for you...except for missing a slew of important free throws and a missed dunk by Geron, we dominated Xavier in our 2nd half comeback.

While this is a tough loss to swallow as a fan, I like the fact that the guys battled hard after halftime...there is hope yet for this terrific group of players.

yup, if we hit anything close to 50% from the foul line this game could have been won.

We can either win at least one game in the dance and finally earn national respect, or we can lose and face ridicule. I think that's what is all boils down to this year.

This one ...

Okay, I missed that. I disagree with EvilLore. Winning a game in the Dance will not earn this team or Pastner respect. They are going to have to make it to the second weekend of the Dance if they want respect.

you mean third. The way it is now....the play in games are the opening round...Winning our first game would put us into the round of 32. We'd have to win that to get to the Sweet 16 to get the respect we want....which would be week 3 wouldn't it?
