It's an unfair question, mainly because WKU/MTSU fans are caught up in the passion and hatred of it. I'm sure to fans part of other rivalries, theirs is more intense.
I don't believe any two remaining members of C-USA moving forward have played each other in football anywhere near the 60+ times we have. Southern Miss and La Tech with 44 is likely the closest and their rivalry is going through right now what ours was going through like five years ago, restarting after a break of nearly two decades.

While true, his original question was relative. Nobody can have an objective view on such a question, so the answers will always be fairly skewed.

It sounds subjective, but I really don't think there are any rivalries within CUSA that even come close. Honestly, I had no idea Tech was our rival until people started saying it about 3-4 years ago, and I'm not sure their little handful of fans feel any different. ULL is who they hate (with good reason).

I believe that if he stays on his best behavior and WKU has a good season, barring a colossal turnaround by Pinkel, that Petrino will be named the head coach at Missouri after this season.
Unless he finds a reason to stay..........
Even he is not that colossally stupid...I think.

Absolutely. Rivalries are all in the eyes of the beholder so to speak, but we can certainly point to empirical data and say we've played 60+ times and are located 100 miles apart as to reasons to say we feel confident putting our rivalry up against anyone else's, especially when some of the more intense rivalries in C-USA are between schools with a series history or less than ten games and hundreds of miles separating them.

I'm surprised "100 miles of hate" hasn't taken off more so than it has. I guess I could see the administration shying away from the word hate, but I rarely even see it used by more than a handful of fans on both sides. I doubt we find one much better.

Well, I can't think of a more accurate word to use than "hate".

So wait.. It'd make more sense to spend how many millions to leave C-USA, join the nBe, and only make an additional $700k +/- per year maybe?
Andre if that happened you'd b*tch because we're more broke than normal.

Assuming TU is in fact next, I think this means they wanted it more than USM. Our AD is soft on conference realignment. My suspicion is that Aresco et al. approached him informally, but didn't get a strong, enthusiastic "yes."
Tulsa's an OK choice, but I think USM is better: more students, more alumni, better geography..
If Hammond had accepted the offer floated by him, he would have been insane. To say it was bad economics is an understatement. Patience will be a positive as this realignment continues. Some have acted in a hysterical rush and that was a mistake.
Their TV contract is bigger. Whatever short-term advantage you see in staying will be overwhelmed by the TV money. You just have to project further into the future.
It's unfortunate that Hammond's managed to get fans thinking this way. Figuring out the financial part of moving up is his job. He's not doing it.
This is a hypothetical argument... where it becomes concrete is scheduling. Take a look at this year's football schedule. Dollars be damned,we need to escape THAT.
If we turn down the Big East, we're basically turning down a better job because we don't have money for a necktie.
There are going to be some home and home series scheduled that will make you very happy.

If UAB wanted to, they could force a vote. Every school would vote their own interest. Either school might win. How can I know which school UTEP wants to be with?
Frankly, I don't think either one of us should be forced to do a damned thing. If Britty has to make things work with both of us in the east, then he'll just have to be creative. FIU can take their cheatin' a$$ west. Personally, my attitude toward CUSA at this point is very much "screw'em." There's no real tie-in to a decent bowl any more and nobody we care about playing. You're not shoving us anywhere we don't want to be, nor will you do it to UAB.

Tulsa could leave, but I still I think they would regret it within a few years. The difference in money just doesn't seem enough to justify the additional costs of moving.
If they did leave, we would still have 13 members. 6 in one division and 7 in the other. No need to add anyone. Just my opinion.
Also, if it came down to it, USM in the West make more sense then moving UAB.

For Tulsa it's more about keeping up with the Jones.
