What will UC's answer be to out of conference scheduling?
While schools like Boise ST announce games against Virginia. UC announces a game against Alabama A &M. This game of course will do nothing to enhance UC chances to play in any of the major bowls but Whit keeps scheduling worthless teams.
With the coming of the new BE UC strength of schedule and out of conference games like Alabama A & M, Ohio, Toledo, Stoneybrook and other the only bowls we will be invited to is the toilet bowl.. And when you lump this in with ESPN Yuesday, Wednesday, Thursday games the fan base will rapidly disappear. This is very sad.

OOC scheduling has nothing to do with bowl games. Conferences negotiate
bowl deals and lineups. If we have something close to an undefeated season we could see an invite to an access bowl. Nothing wrong with having Purdue, Toledo, Ohio, Illinois, and OSU on the schedule, which we do. We all know that the key for for the future is more realignment and getting an invite.

I did not know there was a limit. My hope is that Whit will see the board and stop scheduling teams that no one wants to see play.

When you are stuck with changing schedules at the last minute there isn't much you can do. I think Whit and everyone else in the athletic department is quite aware of the situation and is doing whatever he/they can do to schedule big name opponents at Nippert.

Boise schedules warm up games too. They play UT Martin next season. They're just a media darling is why they're getting press for playing a woeful Virginia team. I bet Purdue, Miami, and Illinois all could either beat Virginia or give them a game. Also remember Virginia is in the ESPN ACC so they will get a lot of mainstream press while we are in the bastard children conference.

I bet Ohio State wants a home and home. Whit should call them, too.

RE: What will UC's answer be to out of conference scheduling?
Just to make sure everyone is clear, the following teams have made it clear they will NEVER schedule a home and home with UC:

These ones for certain-
UK (not after we whipped them back 2 out 3 times in the 90s before we even had a decedent program)
OSU
ND
Michigan
Michigan State
Indiana
Wisconsin (not after embarrassing them back in 1999)

Highly likely they will never play us home and home-
Texas
Texas A&M
Alabama
Florida
LSU
Stanford
USC
UCLA
Tennessee
Georgia

I am sure there are others, but if we can start with the premise these will never happen we can start guessing who else WB should look to schedule.

Don't rip him. He needs to start this topic at least once a month so when Whit logs on he see's that kyucat is concerned about the scheduling and then Whit can hit up Michigan, Bama, Notre Dame and USC about a home and home.

This what I like hear the defeat attitude of the true UC fan. Don't try anything new just continue the same merry way down. Don't be bold an work harder then ever to schedule games of interest listen to all the bloggers who say it's impossible. That will work. I mean look where it has got UC so far.

OSU would take a 1 for 2 deal with their own home game being played at PBS!

You should just go ahead and add those schools to the certain list as well.

UC got Oklahoma to do a home and "home" ... It's always possible.

I'm as optimistic of a UC fan as you will find but you have to be real about everything too. One, your argument is based upon Boise State playing freaking Virginia. That is not a big name opponet, do you know who UC opens the season with next year? Purdue at Nippert stadium, I would say at the very least they are on Virginia's level and probably a step ahead. UC also plays Illinois. I realize that if UC is going to be stuck in this New Big East that us fans wants to absolutely load the non conference schedule with big name teams to make up for the Tulanes and Memphis types on the schedule but there are tons of factors that go into that. One, not many power house teams and going to give UC a home and home. If UC can have a team out of a power 5 conference visit Nippert every year like Purdue then were gonna have to be happy with that. There is absolutely no reason for good teams from power leagues to visit UC if they don't need too. Even marginal schools like Vanderbilt or Iowa or Maryland don't really have much to gain by it.
