CUSAers at Combine
USM had Jason Weaver with the OL yesterday and Jamie Collins with the LBs today (19 reps, awaiting 40 yd dash).

SMU's DL Margus Hunt is killing it so far. Ran a 4.60 and put up 38 reps. Physically he seems like a freak, but his production in college wasn't all that great.

THIRTY-EIGHT? Dang.

What do you mean his production wasn't great? Didn't he set the NCAA record for blocked kicks?

RE: CUSAers at Combine
Rice TE Vance McDonald had a great combine, building off an attention-grabbing Senior Bowl performance.

Ran a 4.63 40 (at a check-in of 6-4, 267 lbs), easily had the most reps for the TE group at 31, and was 2nd in broad jump at 9'11".

Projections now have Vance getting picked in the 2nd round.

OL - Jordan Mills (5.37, 20 reps)
OL - Oscar Johnson (5.49, DNP)
P - Ryan Allen (don't know why they invite ST players)

Marshall WR Aaron Dobson pulled a hamstring, so he won't be running at the combine

I would say smu didn't use him efficiently

Good point. Was mostly referring to DE production.

Jamie Collins ran a 4.60 unofficial and killed it at the broad jump. Very good.

Apparently Collins' broad jump is a new combine record.

His jump was only 7 inches shorter than the all-time world record.

RE: CUSAers at Combine
Thats a great jump.

The one thing abou these skills though is that the majority of them arent going to be used in a football game. When would a standing broadjump EVER be a usefull measure in a NFL game?

I also dont get why the Lineman run the 40. Is a lineman EVER going to need to sprint 40 yards and block somebody?

I understand it displays athleticism, but come on.

The broad jump can be a good measure of a players explosion off the snap. Collins is obviously a very explosive player. That is very impressive. Lineman running the 40... That is just for fun COGS

The short shuttles are what really make scouts drool in the underwear Olympics. It shows the ability to pull and trap and is a great measure.

Anyone who remembers this shot knew his vertical jump would be amazing.
