D'Angelo Harrison, the third-leading scorer in the Big East Conference, has been suspended by St. John's for the rest of the season.

Red Storm coach Steve Lavin made the announcement Friday without giving a reason for the suspension, which includes postseason games.

Harrison, a sophomore guard from Missouri City, Texas, is averaging 17.8 points. He reached the 20-point mark in 13 of the first 27 games this season with a high of 36 against Villanova. He recently became the 48th player in St. John's history to reach 1,000 points.

The Red Storm (16-11, 8-7) are ninth in the 15-team Big East. The top eight teams receive a bye into the second round of the conference tournament. They play Saturday at Providence.

My dad really hates that harrison guy. And not because he couldnt miss against us when we played. But the game before St johns played UC, pops said he was watching the game and the harrison guy was throwing elbows and looked like he punched a guy when they were on the ground going after the ball. Then when they played UC, the guy just acted like a thug the whole game.
